This is not to take anything away from the California fires, I know that is much worse. This is just a vent.
I live in the very Southern most part of Indiana. We don’t get a lot of snow. I think our yearly average is just over 1 foot. That usually comes over 3-4 snowfalls. Unlike the rest of the state, it is very “hilly” here.
Last Sunday and Monday we got 10 inches of snow with ice mixed in. The snow was like concrete. We ended up having to pay someone to scrape the driveway (we sit 1/2 acre back on our lot) and it took almost 2 days to find someone to do it because everyone else was looking too.
I’m a teacher. We were supposed to go back to school from break on Monday. That has not happened as many roads are still crap (rural area.) Woke up this morning to find out we go under another Winter Storm Warning tomorrow with expected 3-5 inches.
I know people farther north have a lot more resources to clear roads, but I still have no desire to live anywhere where this much snow happens. It’s not even projected to get above freezing here until January 18th. Over it.
