Five adults, one cabin, 4 separate addresses.
So if a single of person, whom does not live in the same part of the state(we are all 2 hours apart from each other now except my parents live together).
So my daughter got a call today she was exposed to Covid yesterday at work from someone. But she works with PPE(she had it on and the person with Covid had it on) 3X vax’ed so everything should be good in theory.
Now I asked earlier if one person had Covid do the rest not sail? And it was explained nobody could sail since we would have traveled to the port together. I hadn’t thought about testing ourselves before we got together back when I asked that.

But if she did have it and we didn’t travel or meet up with her, would we(those who hand seen her 6 days before she was exposed)still be unable to sail?

So what happens to the reservation moneys of the single person that does not sail? Are the rest able to sail if she is not? Is that a insurance cancel? A 14 day Covid cancel for any reason?

+++Also could someone tell me if a person could bring/borrow a heating pad or microwave a hot pack from home some how? Mom had chronic pain and needs some help.

If the exposure to her was prior to her exposure to COVID and you don't travel via the same transportation to the ship, you would not be denied boarding (unless, of course, one of you tests positive at the port).

Only those people on the same reservation (in the same room), who travel together to the port would be denied boarding due to a positive test at the port.

Heating pads are not allowed onboard. Microwavable hot packs - there's no microwave available for passenger use. The chemical hot packs (think Hot Hands brand) would be allowed.

Another option would be a hot water bottle. You can get really hot water from room service, although I find the hot water from the tap in the bathroom is usually pretty hot.

I would call DCL within the 14 day window to cancel for that person only due to Covid. That person's share of the money should be refunded.

If the person being denied is in a single room, only that person will be denied. According to DCL, being denied boarding at the port, you have the choice of a full refund, or future cruise credit.

If the person being denied is sharing a room, everyone in that room will be denied boarding.

But, yes, if one person's portion of a reservation is cancelled, due to the 14 day COVID cancellation, however much her portion of the reservation was will have the same options, from what I've read.

Be aware, if she's a 3rd person in a room, the lower, 3rd person cost will be refunded.

I mentioned above we are all 5 in the same cabin, also if we travel together we leave together. I’m looking for any answers on the one person not leaving their home which is not shared with any of the rest of us with Covid.
Thank you for the lower price reminder, I suspected that would be the case. Although technically I’m concerned there would be no refund because part of the group will travel but one might not. That’s where I’m unsure. One person doesn’t go because of Covid, I’d like credit but afraid we would get nothing because we would have sailed, but just short one person.

If your daughter cancels (or you cancel her off the reservation) due to COVID, DCL policy currently is a choice of refund or future cruise credit. But just in the amount that person's portion of the reservation is. In this case whatever the charge for the 5th person in a room is.

Since none of the other people in the room will have been exposed to her since her exposure, chances are you won't be denied just based on the fact that one of you cancelled.

Well that’s excellent news. That answers everything I needed to know! Thank you!
Still hoping she’s fine. We won’t know for at least another 38 hours. We all plan to test separately just before we meet to ride to the airport together.

Such a crazy time in life.

Prior to my surgery, I had a medical issue that gave me chronic pain but I still needed to travel and work.

Thermacare patches were a lifesaver. They react to the air once opened (like hot hands) and have various sizes depending on where you put on your body. CVS also sells a generic brand as well.

Wouldnt you then not be being honest on the admission survey pre-boarding if she comes?

"by boarding a disney cruise ship you are confirming that you and all persons in your party have not been in close contact with someone confirmed or suspected of covid 19 within the last 14 days...."

Generally speaking, those who work in healthcare and are wearing appropriate PPE are not considered "close contacts."

OP has said that her daughter was exposed, but lives at a different address. All other parties have not had contact with her since prior to that exposure.

OP has said that her daughter was exposed, but lives at a different address. All other parties have not had contact with her since prior to that exposure.
But OP also said that the daughter was in PPE when exposed. That is not considered “close contact”, assuming OP is correct that it was true PPE and not just a cloth/surgical mask. OP is just wanting to know what would happen if daughter tests positive.

But she works with PPE(she had it on and the person with Covid had it on)

But OP said she got a phone call telling her she'd been exposed. I wouldn't think her work would bother to call and tell her that, if she wasn't actually exposed (PPE or not).

Not knowing the exact situation - but I read it as 2 healthcare workers, both fully vaxxed/boostered, appropriately attired in PPE. One tested positive for Covid; likely contracted outside of work (home/holiday gathering, etc.). OP's DD was informed of the co-worker's positive status because she works with this person. It is probably standard HR policy to inform coworkers since HR only knows that the 2 people were on shift together and working in close proximity but HR does not necessarily know what each was wearing at any given point during that shift -- for all HR knows they also ate lunch together. The DD says she was only with this person while properly protected.

For heating pads, I HIGHLY recommend ThermaCare heat wraps. I have brought and used a number of them on every DCL cruise I have taken. They are air activated, each one coming in an individual sealed packet. The heat lasts for many hours. And they are designed to be portable so you can wear them while mpving around doing things.

I use them when traveling, at home and at work. I have bought them at Pharmacies, Walmart, Amazon, Costco. One WDW trip I ran out and was able to get more from Turner Drugs.

I suggest trying them out at home so one is familiar with their use and ensure you have the proper size for your need(s).

Company website: https://www.thermacare.com/

ETA: electric heating pads are prohibited on DCL (and most or all other cruise ships) because they are a fire hazard; there is nowhere to be able to head the microwavable ones as guests do not have access to any microwaves.
