Nobody puts V on page 2!:sad2:

Just bumpin' ya girlfriend!;)

:rotfl2: I LOVE that movie! "I carried a watermelon." :lmao:

Okay, okay. Truth be known, I was hoping to see an update from Mel to provide some more inspiration one of these days, but that's not looking good. :sad2: So I'll get working today, I promise!

Day 7, Wednesday Dec. 6

If you’ve been keeping track, you know we’re down to our last day in The World. A time to face the Envelope of Doom. A time to journey back to our home. A time to face reality once more.

But first, a LOT more magic! ::MickeyMo

The day began with the evacuation of our BWI room. For once, there were no feelings of remorse over checking out – we couldn’t have been happier to leave our mold-infested, perfumy chamber of humidity. We packed the night before and were out the door by 8(ish)am.

I think I forgot to mention this, but remember that I drove to our Focker meet at the Poly several days earlier? When I got back that night, as I drove past the self-park area to valet the car, I spotted an open space in the FIRST ROW of the self park. I promptly circled back to it and scored myself the best parking ever at the Boardwalk. The Disney parking gods shone their light upon me yet again. Thanks, and Have a Magical Day!:wizard:

Since I had such a great spot, I was reluctant to leave it. So we took one last trip on the WDW public transit for our final day.

And where were we headed? Well, the spread sheet called for Epcot that day, but it also assumed we’d have slept in a bit and relished our last hours at BWI. Since that didn’t happen, we took the natural next step: we asked the 4 year old. Anyone want to guess what he wanted to do?!

Buzz Lightyear. Again.
And so it was that we headed over to the MK one more time this trip.

It was a relatively quiet morning and I wanted some pics in front of the castle. Leo, despite being in his Happy Place, had other ideas.
316536739_8a9407d129.jpg

Frankly, his Disney mojo had worn out. If we were there for any longer of a stay, this should have been a rest day. He wouldn’t admit it, but Leo was ready for some time away from the parks.

But it wasn’t a rest day, it was our last day. And Leo was told in no uncertain terms that we weren’t staying at the MK for long, so he’d better shape up, slap on a smile and decide what 3 rides he wanted to do one last time. Have a Magical Day?!:confused3

To his credit, Leo did shape up and happily jumped in line for Buzz. After that, he chose Winnie the Pooh for one more run.

As we approached the Stand-By entrance, a woman wearing a blue oxford and a WDW name tag stepped into our path. We smiled at her. She smiled at us. Then she asked Leo if he’d like to answer a question about Pooh. Though I’m not sure that’s quite how she phrased it. ‘Cause I’d have been laughing hysterically. I'm just sayin'.

And I wasn’t laughing. I was flipping out inside. This was a Dream Team member! We’d yet to see a single Dream Teamer in the past 6 days, but The Mouse knew what he was doing and had reserved our Dream for just the right time.

Leo answered some questions about Pooh and Tigger, something about what Pooh eats and how Tigger hops, blah, blah, blah, blah… all I wanted to know was WHAT’S OUR PRIZE??!!

Pretty soon, Dream Team lady led us over through the roped-off Fastpass Return queue to the front of the “line”. The “line” of 4 parties looked at us incredulously as we passed them all by with our special Go to the Front of the Line guide.

Yeah, I wasn’t all that impressed, either. But I kept thinking, “Listen, there could have been 100 people in that line and you’d still have gone straight to the front! AND, something really amazing is about to happen!” I knew because Dream Team lady kept telling us that something “really amazing” was about to happen to us.

I tried not to get too excited. I mean, a DVC membership likely wouldn’t be given on the Winnie the Pooh ride. And I’d expect a lot more fanfare if we were about to be given the keys to the castle. I was thinking maybe we’d get to ride with Winnie the Pooh! Or Leo might get a special greeting session all his own with Tigger! Or maybe we’d all get free Winnie the Pooh T-shirts!

We boarded our honey pot and there was no Pooh in sight. Scratch one possibility off the list. Dream Team lady said she’d be waiting for us after our ride with something “really amazing” and asked for Leo’s name.

How we got through that ride, I’ll never know. The anticipation of what awaited us was too much and not one of us could focus on the blustery day, the rain-rain-rain coming down-down-down, or even on the heffalumps. Not even on the woozles.

We disembarked and saw Dream Team lady waiting for us at the end of the ramp, her face absolutely beaming. I almost ran to her with open arms, but I held back and let Leo go up ahead to receive…..

A certificate. Naming us the Newest Residents of the 100 Acre Woods.

All three of us stood there for a minute, watching Dream Team lady’s face, waiting for something more to happen. It didn’t.

Hoping to save Dream Team lady from further embarrassment, (and the wrath of a disappointed 4 year old), I smiled back and said “Thank you so much!” with my best Disney-I’m-so-happy-I-can’t-stand-it voice and escorted Leo and Gramma out of the dump shop.

I really tried to get Leo excited about his stupid certificate – look for yourselves:
316536733_a7d62f2dc7.jpg

He wasn’t buying it. After Gramma snapped that pic, Leo stuffed the certificate into the basket of his stroller, got in and said “We ride airplane roller coaster now.” And we did.

Leo and I got our laugh-screams on and we all headed out to the monorails. THAT’s where the real Dream happened for us.

I’ve never, ever asked to sit in the front of the monorail. I knew the answer would always be “no”. That’s just who I am. I never find things on sale. I locked in at a low mortgage rate only to watch it drop another point the following week. I’ve never gotten my first choice of WDW resort with an annual passholder discount.

So I didn’t bother asking this time, either. But a CM approached us and asked if we’d like to sit in the front! Heck yeah, we do!!! :yay: Thanks, and Have a Magical Day!:wizard:
316536719_b9e5a85f68.jpg

Leo enjoyed his Co-Pilot’s license far more than his certificate. Go figure.

Next up: Epcot, or the Remains of the Day.

V,
I am right there with Leo. What a flippin' BUMMER! A certificate? AMAZING?!?! His face in that photo says it all. Classic. I think I might have gone Tigger on the woman, having all that build up and then handing my Bites a piece of paper.

I'm glad you got the monorail ride, though. We caught it on our way out on our last day, too, and MAN did we tick off some woman who thought that it had been reserved for her. :confused3 I just don't get people sometimes.

Can't wait for Epcot!

I think I forgot to mention this, but remember that I drove to our Focker meet at the Poly several days earlier?
Oooh I'd forgotten you met Lauralee, I'll have to go and read that bit again now I know you all better and see what I'm letting myself in for in August.

Buzz Lightyear. Again.
It has to be done doesn't it, we love that too guess who gets the highest score :cheer2: Not that DH and I are competitive or anything. :rotfl2:

But it wasn’t a rest day, it was our last day. And Leo was told in no uncertain terms that we weren’t staying at the MK for long, so he’d better shape up, slap on a smile and decide what 3 rides he wanted to do one last time. Have a Magical Day?!:confused3
:lmao: Don't you just love it when you start sounding like your mother :lmao:

Oh bless that is just such a let down, if she hadn't bigged it up you would have probably been really grateful.

Yay, we just asked to sit in the front last trip, we had to wait for a second monorail, but we never got a certificate, that's really sweet.

Does this mean your TR is coming to an end  There again you go again soon don't you :yay:

V, I am enjoying your trippie. Your little boy is just too cute.

I can't believe the cm built you up so much .. I really thought you had won some life changing dream.. What a let down. I am glad that your little leo got to ride in the front of the monorail.. We were able to ride in the front on our trip in January but we didnt get a co-pilot license. I was a little disappointed.

Great installment. Too bad about the dream team, my DD's would have been bummed too! for Leo - what a trooper!

Maybe your monorail woman ws the same as my crazy Festival of the Lion King woman?! or worse - Lauralee's SIL Cruella?! :scared1:
Oooh I'd forgotten you met Lauralee, I'll have to go and read that bit again now I know you all better and see what I'm letting myself in for in August.

Jo, you just hit the nail on the head. We absolutely would have been tickled if we were randomly given the certificate without all that lead-up. I thought maybe that CM was just overly enthusiastic, but I've since read several reports of nearly identical certificate experiences. :sad2:
Does this mean your TR is coming to an end  There again you go again soon don't you :yay:
I'm afraid so. I am indeed heading back to The World soon(ish), though!

Thanks KatInHat! Wow, I thought that was routine policy, to give the co-pilot's license. Sounds like we really did get a little Dream!
Great installment. Too bad about the dream team, my DD's would have been bummed too! for Leo - what a trooper!
Funny note - I've had that dumb certificate hanging on the fridge since our return. I kind of forgot about it, but yesterday Leo asked if he could throw it away. His Co-Pilot's license, however, has a prime position on his magnetic bulletin board!

Not that this helps you now, but we didn't get one either in Jan and our dd was really disappointed (her friend had gotten one the day before). We asked at the monorail the next day and the CM was happy to give us one then. Moral of the story: it never hurts to ask.

I hate that we're coming to the end of a great TR. I'll be looking forward to the next one.

I love the way Leo thinks! :thumbup2

Then she asked Leo if he’d like to answer a question about Pooh.
 Sorry, my mind keeps heading to that gutter!

And I wasn’t laughing. I was flipping out inside. This was a Dream Team member! We’d yet to see a single Dream Teamer in the past 6 days, but The Mouse knew what he was doing and had reserved our Dream for just the right time.
Last time we were at DLand, I spotted some DT people and followed them around for 30 mins. All they did was walk around Main Street and look at their watches! DH decided it was time for me to let it go, so he made me leave.:confused3
WHAT’S OUR PRIZE??!!

A certificate. Naming us the Newest Residents of the 100 Acre Woods.

He wasn’t buying it. After Gramma snapped that pic, Leo stuffed the certificate into the basket of his stroller, got in and said “We ride airplane roller coaster now.” And we did.
Nothing like a good go around on Goofy's Barnstormer to take away the pain! ;)

Don't let it come to an end! :goodvibes

Leo enjoyed his Co-Pilot’s license far more than his certificate. Go figure.
Really?! I mean what's cooler....to say you co-piloted the monorail or you're the newest resident of the 100 acre woods? PLEASE?!? I'm with Leo!

I'm so sad that it's your last day! But happy that you got out of the room of funk at the BW. Sheesh!

Are you planning other trip soon? Heck....you've prolly been on a couple of day trips since you started this report. ;)

Glad you are feeling better.

Good point! Especially lately, I think the CM's sometimes ned a little nudge, KWIM?
Thanks for joining in!
You DROVE back??? Just FYI - you will not be able to drive anywhere in August! :lmao:
Yep, THAT's why Lauralee and I had to hang out chatting so late - had to let that Lapu Lapu wear off! :rotfl: At least that's what I told Gramma. And no WAY will I be driving come August :scared1: And if Jo's on the floor, I don't know how well the bus will work, either - we may need to think about a taxi!:rotfl2:

Glad you are feeling better.

Thanks Melinda, me too! LOL, believe it or not, we've only been back once since this trip! Just me, Leo and the MK. We had a really nice day with.... NO STROLLER. I never understood why other DISers were so excited to be rid of the stroller - I mean, where do you put your change of shoes, sweater in case the restaurant's cold, souvenirs, extra water, etc. without that basket??!! - but let me tell ya, it was GREAT! I think the stroller will be reserved only for EP next trip.

OH, OH, OH, I've got it - we need a scooter AND a double stroller... two can ride the scooter and push the other two in the stroller! Won't we be a sight? :dance3:
