It’s Not Christmas Till We Visit The Mouse! Dec. 2006

NO CROWDS!!!
Fabulous! Now is this a rarity or is there a big lull in attendance between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
PrincessV said:
As I usher Leo and Gramma over toward Toontown, the problem with our space-time continuum becomes clear: Gramma walks s l o w. Really slow. Insanely slow.
Ha! That's my whole family. I was clearly 3 yards ahead at all times. Move along, people! We're in Disney World! Mimi is the only one who can keep up with me.

We headed over to Big Thunder Mountain next, and I got the picture I missed in Sept.:

He is so cute! Love this picture, V!

“Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!”
So glad you sang the song! Did you get the creepy little echo?
PrincessV said:
Leo didn’t want anything on the kid’s menu.
Guess I'm gonna hafta check out the kid's menu?! What have they done? If chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, and fish stix aren't on it, James won't eat for a week.
PrincessV said:
Mad props to Matt, our stellar JC Guide – he rocked the spiel!..... “Where’s the mist? He MISSED!!” Looks like my boy’s got a future in Disney entertainment, folks. :rotfl:
Goot one, Leo! Glad you got a rockin Jungle Cruise guide. It makes all the difference.

"Where's the DOLE WHIPS??" Alas, PrincessV and son are allergic to pineapple,)[/I]
Quelle domage!
PrincessV said:
There’s our Pal!!
Now admit it, V! You're really the one who wanted Pal Mickey, aren't you! ;)

Great installment, V! I saw it yesterday but was saving it for this morning! ;)

Little Bite 1 just looked over at that photo of Tomorrowland and said "We've GOT to go next December! There is NO ONE there!"
To be fair, it wasn’t quite this empty the entire trip, (more to come on that subject), but I can’t say enough about going in Dec. Crowds are usually low, weather is fantastic, and the decorations are the best!

love your pictures.......and your son is adorable!!
Thanks samc! Plenty more pics coming up, I promise.

The no waits have me going back between Thanksgiving and X-mas the rest of my life! It was so nice to have my own walking space.
Isn’t it the best? I’ll tell you a secret… after witnessing how incredibly empty the place is in Sept., I’m actually considering another weekend that time in 2007, despite the insanely hot temperatures.

My pleasure! Glad to have you here.

Do you see what I see? Besides cutie pie, little Leo?

That man in the background.... doesn't he have a lime green tag hanging from his backpack? Could that be a DIS-ER?
Sorry to DISappoint, but he wasn’t a DISer. Well, I guess he might have been still, but the tag was just a plain ol’ luggage tag. And there were TONS of those things all over the place, too. My lime green sensory perception was in overdrive and those stupid tags kept messing with me.

Great start... I love how empty eveything is. I don't understand the whole "Let's watch the taping of the parade!" thing. I mean, why waste precious park time when you can see it on TV just like the rest of us?? :confused3

Anyhoo... I love the photos, especially of you scowling!! :rotfl:

Thanks for posting!!!
Thanks DM! Yeah, I don’t get the parade taping thing, either. It was really very funny as we walked past the castle forecourt, while they were filming the crowd that was supposedly watching the show. “Now, we need everyone to look at Bob over there – the bearded guy in jeans and a red T-shirt – and pretend like he’s Cinderella dancing with her prince. We need you guys to gasp and ooh and ahh and point and say ‘There’s Cinderella!’, okay? And don’t forget to keep smiling, we need BIG smiles!” The cameras pan… “That was great everybody, but we’ll need to do it again because this little girl in the front wasn’t smiling quite big enough…” Very entertaining. :rotfl2:

WHAT?!?!?!? Allergic to pineapple?!?! How can that be?!?!?! :confused3
I KNOW what you’re thinking…. I promise, a full explanation of this phenomenon is forthcoming! ::yes::

Hey - noticed the crocs...how were your feet at the end of the day? I thought about buying them because most people I've talked to swear by them, but...I can't just push myself off into the deep end yet...:confused3 Not very brave....:sad2:
Ahem… stepping onto my Crocs soapbox…
I love my Crooocs, oh yes I do,
I love my Crooocs, in lime and blue.
They make my toes oh so happy,
And my mother’s and son's, too.
So please come join me,
And buy a shoe.
Or two.

LOVE my Crocs. Truly, the only shoes I can wear at WDW now. I tried my favorite sneakers one day and was limping after 3 hours. Slipped on those Crocs and I was back in business!

Thank you for making my evening with another installment...although I almost wrecked my car trying to read it on the drive home from work...Long story...
This :car: plus this :surfweb: plus this :smokin: equals this ::cop:

:sad2: How come certain "people" in authority don't appreciate multi-tasking???
Uh uh – no way am I taking the heat for your “multi-tasking” efforts! :lmao: You crack me up!

aldisneygrl said:
Did you remember to put Leo on the "Non Squish" side this time, or did you squash that cute little boy like a bug again? ;) :rotfl:
Well, he wasn’t on the right side of the car, but he still got squished… between me and Gramma! :rotfl:

aldisneygrl said:
Gramma looked like she had the "Mean Lady" (borrowed from UM and GlendaMax's TR about their CM at the Tea Party) smile. ;)
You are so right – it was totally a “Mean Lady” smile!

aldisneygrl said:
Looks like Gramma was sporting a Lime Green bag! Would expect nothing less from PrincessV's mama! :thumbsup2
Yeah, and she was actually kind of into it. Go figure!

Glendamax said:
Heya! LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture of no crowds in TomorrowLand!!!! I would DIE to be there with no crowds AND low heat!!!!! (crossing fingers for next Winter!)
Wasn’t it amazing? Dec.’s not quite as slow as it was when we were there in Sept., but the lack of heat and humidity totally makes up for a few more people! I KNOW I’ll see you there next winter! ;)

Definitely a major lull between Thanksgiving and Christmas week. It’s not quite as slow as Sept., and weekends are busier due to local day visitors, but it’s a great time to visit!

lexmelinda said:
So glad you sang the song! Did you get the creepy little echo?
No, but I did, rather quietly, say “I don’t believe in George”. Nothing happened. Maybe it needs to be said loudly?! :confused3
lexmelinda said:

Definitely take a look at the menu on allearsnet. Near as I can tell, they have one standard kids menu with three items: chicken pita pizza, grilled chicken strips, and a fruit & veggie plate with tuna salad and dip. Then, each restaurant has a couple additional items, which vary a little from place to place, like mac&cheese, spaghetti, hot dogs. We only found nuggets at Backlot Express in MGM. It’s not awful, but if you have the misfortune of winding up at 3-4 restaurants in a row with the exact same menu, and your kid only likes 1 or 2 things on that menu, it gets a bit tough.

Moi?? Mais non, jamais. Eh, peut-être….

Now DH is curious too...although I'm sure he's thinking that it's MY fault you had a LAPU LAPU and that I could have possibly killed you....Why does he think everything is MY fault!?!?!? :confused3

Seriously V...do you like them or not? Hard to tell from this response?!?!? :lmao: Ok, I think I'm going to have to break down and try them!

Yep...no one appreciates multi-tasking...the officer in question probably wouldn't have fallen for the whole "Don't you know who I am? I am the MOMINATOR"...:rotfl: Ah well....

The Disboards will be down for the holidays for an upgrade for most, if not all, of the weekends.

If I don't get back on later on today, I hope you and Leo and Gramma have a very Merry Christmas and I look forward to chatting with you again soon!!

Leo's off to his dad's tonight and it'll be my first Christmas Eve without my baby, and NO DIS-ING??!! Just shoot me now and ease the pain.

Okay, I'll get through by writing some more TR. Lauralee, Merry, Merry Christmas to you and your guys - may it be all you wish and more!

Everybody , Happy Holidays and best wishes for a terrific 2007! :grouphug:

Im enjoying your TR. We were at the World at the same time. I can't wait to read the rest.

Happy Holidays!!!

Love, love, loving your report V! Can't wait for the rest. I know you are going to miss your sweet Leo this weekend, but think of how happy he'll be to see you when he comes home! Plus you can use the downtime to get lots more reporting done!

I thought of you and your love of Christmassy things last night as we were driving around looking at Christmas lights. These people have a stereo simulcast on FM to their laptop synchronized light show. It was pretty amazing. I'd hate to see their power bill! www.ludychristmas.com

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Merry Christmas V!

It is going to be tough on you this weekend. No DIS and no Leo. :sad2: Sending you my best  and pixiedust: !

I am sending you a PM, and maybe you will get a late Christmas present. :ssst: Keep your fingers crossed. :thumbsup2

Ellester, thanks so much for your warm thoughts! :goodvibes

Watched the video.... Now THAT's what I'm talking about! The only reason I want a house, as opposed to my condo, is to be able to do the holiday decorations up RIGHT. My motto: BIGGER, BIRGHTER, LOUDER, TACKIER, BETTER!!! :lmao:

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the Christmas wishes V.

Merry Christmas to you. You can curl up with a warm cup of SF cocoa and look at the decorations and play some music, look at photos and cherish the memories you have been so blessed to make.

Great report, PrincessV, looking forward to the continuation.

Hi PrincessV  Just wanted to say i followed you over here from the focker thread! Looks like you had a wonderful time! cant wait to read more and your little leo is soooooo cute!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :SANTA:

Merry belated Christmas everyone!
Guess I needn't have worried about the boards being down; I haven't even touched the computer until today.
On the first day of Christmas, my son's school gave to me,
some cold germs that invaded me.

Yep, I've been sick, sick, sick. But it was a nice hliday, nonetheless.

I do have a good start on the next installment, though, so hang in there with me and I'll try to get something new up here in the next day or so!
