I would like to introduce my grams, Helen,
Even though she’s not going with us to WDW… she will definitely be there with me in spirit. She wishes nothing but for us to have a wonderful trip and I can’t wait to see her when we get back. We wear matching gold, St-Christopher charms which means we can always be together even though were a couple of hours apart.
Well we just took an emergency visit to NB to see my grams. Just in case anyone is starting to follow along, my grandmother, who is one of the most important person in my life has recently been diagnosis with Lymphoma cancer in her lymph nodes in her neck. I had been trying to call her since Tuesday evening but she wasn’t coming to the phone and any time I spoke with my grandfather all he could say was that she wasn’t doing well. On Wednesday evening, my aunt called and it was confirmed grams wasn’t feeling well, this round of chemo has really taking it’s toll on my 72 year old mom and she wasn’t making any sense and ultimately she has given up.
She breaks my heart… because I just keep telling her, don’t give up, you’re going to get through this!!! Your half way through your treatment…October is just around the corner!! But they were right.. she was not doing well at all.
We got there on Thursday evening around 7pm, I snuggled in bed with her while she slept and just gently held her hand as she slept. I was shocked to see her, even though it’s ONLY been 3 weeks (the longest we have been apart since her diagnosis). She now has no hair and she seemed so little lying under the blankets at only 114 pounds… eventually she opened up her eyes and seen me lying there next to her and all she could do is cry. The tumor is on her jaw line and was feeding off of her teeth (which had to be pulled)….which makes it hard to talk and eat. Ultimately, the pain is just excruciating.
Thankfully, her spirit seemed to turn around once we had arrived!!! She has decided to start taking her morphine and we cooked some of the recipes given to her from the cancer society over the past two days that would allow her to eat but unfortunately none of which she liked but at least she can have something things to eat. We even made a trip to try on multiple wigs because it’s about time she gets a new do.

Here’s a picture of us early this morning before we left, while we were lying on the couches talking, not the best… but still a picture of just the two of us.
Next Update: Pedi/Mani, Countdown update, Passporters and Final shopping post.
