Issue with Alamo reservation. Getting error code and won't open reservation

One of the people in this thread booked the code in February, and NOW Alamo says the code expired in January. Not sure the poster knew that it was expired when they used it.

Whereas I wasn't asked for it at LAX on a recent trip.

I just related my experiences. Not trying to start an issue. I clearly stated a small airport with no kiosk, you had no choice but to go to desk. I also stated I wasn't asked at MCO this year.

People just need to realize they might not honor eight month expired coupon too.

It is sad to see threads like this. People book cars using iffy codes and expired coupons they know are expired. Then they complain when car rental company questions rental.

Car rental says you have to go to counter to show affiliation and there are complaints? I was just asked for Costco card by Alamo when I rented at a small airport in Arizona. There was no bypassing the counter.

I used to be one who'd use the iffy codes but after a family member was asked for ID and had to pay walk up rate I learned.

Hope it works out for everyone to get rate you had, but this should serve as warning to some !

Yea... I was unaware there was anything wrong with it. It would be one thing if it wasn't accepted but it was. I rented a car for 2 weeks and dud not use that Brazil code or

I didn't know it expired, it didn't ha e a date when I entered it, there was no error code, was accepted no issues. If a code was already expired, then Alamo shouldn't have accepted it.... And like I said, I've been checking weekly and im had no issue until the other day. So why if coupon expired in January, would it work for a booking in February? Just doesn't make sense...

Alamo did email me and apologized for the error and will honor the price I was quoted. I chose Alamo bc of the easy check in. I heard there lines are horrible!

There are those who have no issue booking a res with whatever codes and coupon that are producing. Majority of them are frequent travelers who Know exactly what they are doing and willing to roll the dice, knowing it's often an YMMV type situation. more than likely they have a backup res in hand jik they get shot down at the checkout

The whole free cdw/ldw issue included with some codes I know I'm not eligible to use is enough to have me back off...just too risky as to liability.

I make no judgement, the individual takes upon themselves the responsibility for their own actions

However, Would think in a transaction that easily costs upwards of several hundred $, a prudent person (even a first time renter) would at least google the codes & coupons they are attaching to what in affect is a binding, legal document.

The expiry date was clearly stated in association with the coupon. Details pop up via search. It was a fluke that it started to produce again. Nice while it lasted!

Imo once people discovered the weekly coupon was working on one day rentals (many here shared their details), it was only a matter of time before the coupon was flagged and pulled

Will say I've never seen Alamo change existing reservations...moreso just not permit new bookings with certain Corp codes, coupons and codes.

If anything I'm glad to see they are letting consumers know During the reservation search upfront when a code or coupon is invalid for usage via the banner popup

I think if you want a solid confirmation, just call alamo and state you have made a reservations using your costco, AP contract ID, coupon, whatever and get a verbal confirmation that all is current and valid and get the name, date and time of the convo. If later, they try to push back and state the coupon was invalid, I would ask for a supervisor and request they stand by the confirmation Miss. so and so gave on this date.

Is there a way to tell when a coupon expires? There are alot of coupons mentioned on these boards but no one ever posts an expiration date. So is there a way to tell - I tried googling the coupon I want to use but I just got the alamo website.

I spoke to costumer service and he stated that they aren't sure why it wasn't working but he put a bit on the account to honor the existing price. I do have to go to the counter at mco though.

Are the lines usually long there? I arrive Sunday around 12:30
