Is there someplace to buy a bagel or such in this airport.....I am only used to JFK and LGA. Also there are outside bag checks right?

Yes to both questions. There is a food court and an Irish Pub in the gate area.

Islip MacArthur airport is my favorite airport. I absolutely HATE JFK and LaGuardia. I won't even fly anywhere if I can't get there from MacArthur. It is not far from home, and I can park, and the terminal is so easy to get around in. Love love love it! And yes, there is plenty of food!

Great airport to fly to MCO from. We almost always go from there cause the inlaws live in East Islip and we drop the dog off with them

there is a food court and pub right at the gates so enjoy.

We are flying jet blue this year because the inlaws are going with us and dog is hitting the kennel. So leaving from Stewart, Ny which is 10 mins from us..

We flew out of Islip last year (April 08) and absolutely loved that airport! It was so quiet and calm compared to Bradley and MCO! The baggage screeners were so nice and joked around with my girls (DD10 was very nervous and they were great!).
