Like many parents with active kids, I enjoy taking pictures of them (especially playing sports). This weekend, I got a little inspired to create some photo collages of them. I downloaded one template (soccer) from adobe and created the softball one from scratch. The softball one needs some more tweaking (I'm not a creative type). These are pictures from last year because I haven't started shooting this year yet. Issue #1: Thoughts on the collages?

Last year, I gave copies of the "keeper" photos to my DD's school and they used some from basketball and from softball in the yearbook. Obviously I ended up with pictures of other girls too (I'm working on my photography skills).

What I'm thinking about doing, assuming I get some good pictures of not only DD, but her team mates (and DS team mates on his soccer team), offering to build collages for other parents. I'm hoping I can create a "template" and then just plug in pictures/names/numbers, etc. However, if I did that, I would want to be compensated. Before I got to the point of talking to parents, I would talk to DD's principal and/or coach and see if there's any rules against doing this. I would still give the raw photos to the school for the year book, I would only charge for the collages. However, I have some questions for Dis members...
1) Would you be willing to pay for something like this?
2) How much would you be willing the pay? The softball picture is 27"x19" (shrunk for the web). That would cost $15-20 to me to print. I know a professional photographer who does this (but not for our teams) was selling 30x20 prints for $65. I was thinking charging $40-50 (not to undercut the pro but because I'm not as good as the pro).
3) Any other thoughts?

Anyway, here's what I've come up with...

Again, I still want to do some more work on the softball one.

I wouldn't want one that big and I wouldn't pay that much.

It is to easy to do it yourself on the computer anymore.

I think they're cool, but I wouldn't want one that big. Although a poster for ds's wall would be cool, but I think you can get them printed out for much cheaper than that.

I'd will willing to pay $15-$20 for a poster but I don't think that that what you've done should be poster size.

OK. Thanks. To me, it's hard to envision what size is "just right" without paying to have it printed out.

Could you just make some of your kids and share them and then if people show interest offer to do one for them as well?

Now I think your collages were very nice, but if I'm going to pay that much, I'm probably going to pay the little extra to have the professional do it.
