My DD will turn 10 in a couple weeks. She is very into anything "crafty," bracelet kits, scrapbooks, origami, etc. And she loves accessories (purses, scarves, headbands, earrings) and scented lotion/body spray.
She still likes American Girl stuff, but some of her friends are starting to outgrow it. Lego Friends are a big deal in my house, too... but they seem hit-or-miss among her friends. I'd definitely check with her parents before getting any of these things.
