ISO Hotel & Transportation Recs for Cape Canaveral

Hello! We are flying into FL two days early so that we can visit the Kennedy Space Center before our cruise out of Port Canaveral. Can anyone suggest a good hotel in the area? Preferably one with a pool and beach access. Also, any recommendations on transportation in the area would be helpful. We will need to get from the airport to the hotel, from hotel to the Space Center (and back), and from the hotel to the port. All things equal we would prefer not to rent a car and car seats, but that may be unavoidable. If we do rent a car is there a place to return it near the port? Thanks in advance! Vanetta
