I know this is off the Disney topic but I'm a frequent Dis visitor/poster and was wondering if anyone could help in my elusive search. (haha) Does anyone out there have a grocery store nearby that sells Hostess Chocodiles? It's basically a hostess Twinkie that's covered in chocolate. I live in texas and remeber these as a kid but they no longer sel them in Texas. They have people selling them on Ebay and other personal sites for outrageous amounts (do a search...it's crazy!! freshchocodiles.com has them for about $9.00 a box!!!) but I cant see myself paying that much. I'd love to get some and let my kids try them, as I have told them about them and how I enjoyed them as a child. I would gladly pay for all the costs and shipping too, of course. PM me if you can help!:thumbsup2

Any takers?

Never heard of them. I go to a Hostess Outlet too and have not seen them, it must be a regional thing. Try emailing Hostess.

The only place I ever saw them was in California. I tried them.

Never heard of them and I've lived in Texas for over 1/2 of my life! They look delicious, though! :)

I've not seen them in over 20 years! I love them and remember getting them in my lunchbox as a child. :-)

They only sell them on the west coast.

I haven't seen any anywhere in years except on the internet.

I've looked as far west as Arizona and I didn't see any there.

Why don't you just buy regular twinkies and dip them in chocolate? Maybe put a skewer in one end so you can dip the whole thing and then take the stick out when the chocolate gets hard.

Wow! Thanks for the memories! "It takes a while to eat a Chocodile." :rotfl2:

I live in CA and have a hostess store right around the corner from me. Don't think it's open on Sundays but i'll check on Monday:thumbsup2

I just bought some last night! I live in Colorado. The convenience store around the corner sells them, but only individually wrapped(not in the big multiple-pack). But, I could probably buy a case if you're still interested. My husband has a problem with these things:rotfl2:

I love Chocodiles! Sorry I can't help you - they don't have them any more in NJ. But a few years back, my sister went online and ordered some for me for my birthday. I'm not sure how much she paid, but they were just as I remembered.:thumbsup2 I wish they would bring them back here on the East Coast.

I'll look for them when I go to the grocery store tomorrow. I remember them from the 80s and the commercial "it takes a while to eat a chocodile". I always wondered why they called them "chocodiles" ---- they don't look like a crocodile! They should have called them "chocowinkies"

Chocowinkies.....well, I think we now know why they call them Chocodiles.:lmao:

OP hasn't been back...
And we've provided a couple of easily searchable (on his/her own) sites for purchasing the product...
Anybody else think the OP is a shill for Hostess? :rotfl2:

I LOVE them ! its a California thing . I have my Uncle send them to me from time to time .

I have not found them anywhere here in TX for sure and believe me I have looked
