I find it rather strange how songs just stick to you, you just don't forget them.
I remember the day my parents bought an Amanda Marshall cd years ago, when I was 3, 4 or 5. We used to listen to it constantly
I started listening to it yesterday, and I remembered 3/4 of the songs off the album.
It's weird how you could have known all the words to a song back when you were 9, and you forgot you knew them. And you find yourself singing along to the song when you hear it.

Yea it is weird. When I was younger like 10 maybe, Jewel had a song out and I knew all the words. I heard it not too long ago and I still knew all the words..I can't remember the name of it though..

I listened to a song once a loooooong time ago by Meatloaf and many years later I found myself singing the lyrics. I was singing different verses and yet, I had no idea who sang it or what the title was. When I finally had computer access, I googled the words I found myself singing and I found the title and artist. It was "I Would Anything For Love (But I won't do that)" by Meatloaf. It was a song I heard once a long time ago, and never heard it again until many years later...but I found it, played it and now every so often I hear it somewhere being played heh.

I agree, it's funny how that works. There are still songs that I have in my head that I don't know what they beling to lol.

of course i remember spice girls and nsync and all that, but like babyjustrun, i still remember the lyrics to almost all the songs on madonna's album 'like a prayer'.. my dad and i used to listen to this album laying on the floor of our living room when i was very young (think 2 and 3 years old), and i remember as i got older we used to talk about all the instruments i could hear in that music... i came across the old cd the other day, and boy, does it bring back memories....

Memories...

...you know, I think I like half the music I do because when I was a baby, my mom would rock with me while watching MTV and a lot of the music played then, I like now. Also, my mom would constantly play her CDs around the house so growing up I would always hear 80's music and early 90's. I love that music now and I think a lot of the reason for that is because I was so very exposed to it growing up. Plus, when I hear the music, so many memories are conjured!

i was a fan of Nsync, backstreet boys, spice girls, britney spears, christina agulera and jessica simpson in like 2nd grade. i still know every song. especially britney spears and the backstreet boys.

sometimes i start singing and dont even know what im singing 'till i get to the refrain (sp). :]

I have two words for you: Spice Girls.

Ah, the Spice Girls. I loved them. And that was ten years ago!

Another song I never knew I realized I knew all the words to was Sloop John B. by the Beach Boys.

I think it's strange that I still know the words to the Pokemon theme song XD

And I still know a lot of the words to Nynsc too ! lol

My class is putting on a play, and its Pokemon themed, and everytime the theme song comes on, me and my friends like scream the words lol. And because we "have so much enthusiasm" we have to sing backup and dance around in the backround.

I know all the words to Pokemon. I was the most obsessed fanatic. I'd cry if I missed an episode of Pokemon or Digimon.

I still know words to Spice Girls ... just two songs though.
BSB, durrr, I loved them.
N*Sync? No way. I know the words to like two songs, and that was because of television. I hated them as a kid.

I used to be a Backstreet Boys TeenieBopper-OMG-SQUEE!!!111!!eleventy!!11!! fan(I still love them, but thankfully I've toned it down a bit since then ^_^) - and that meant I HATED Nsync - but that doesn't stop me from still today knowing the words to every single they've ever released x_X :) It's not so bad ^_^

Same. I found my Pokemon first movie CD, when I listened to it I liked it again. :)

Oh, I do that! Especially with N'Sync. I could put on one of their cds right now and still know the words to the majority of the songs. I don't know what it is, but for some reason the lyrics to certain songs stick with me.

yeah, you're right.
the other day I listened to a song that I hadn't heard since first grade.
Still knew it by heart.
