We'll be leaving for the World in 2 weeks! We planned on visiting Sea World (besides the Disney Parks) - but now I'm wondering if we should go to Islands of Adventure instead. (time and money will only allow for one or the other).

Two years ago we went to Universal (before IOA was open) and we had a great time. We have never been to Sea World.

My children are ages 9, 7 and 4. Is there enough at IOA for them to do? My 7 year old son is a HUGE Dr. Seuss fan which is why I got to thinking about the switch to IOA in the first place.

PLEASE help me decide! Vote Now!

thanks!

t's a tough call! Does your 4yo make any of the height requirements? Do they all like the different rides? Sea World has the advantage that it has entertainment for all ages and it is a totally different "themepark" experience. I have not been to IOA and am planning on it this year with my 4 and 6yo. We do Sea World every year and the girls LOVE it. It is so much more relaxing then WDW and is a totally different experience. The problems I have is my 4yo can't make the 40" restrictions and she "melts" down when her sister get to go on all the "fun" rides. At sea world I don't have that problem and they truely enjoy themselves

That is a tough one! We went to IOA last year and had an absolute blast. There is a lot to do there, especially if you like thrill rides. But the kids will love Spiderman and Suess land and the Bilgrat Barges and stuff. However... I love Seaworld too! I can't believe you've never been! Poor souls. We went to the San Diego one last year for an oceanography field trip and spent the night. It was a blast. But anyway, the shows are incredible and there are all kinds of really cool exhibits. Your kids would love this too. It's really neat. So, I guess you have to decide... Awsome marine animals or fun, fiberglass rides? ;) Have fun, whatever you do!

THAT is Disney! ;-)

we went to ioa in december with our 5yr old son. it was our first trip to orlando to any of the parks. we didn't do sea world but loved ioa. our son loved seuss landing(of course it was decorated for grinchmas to coincide with the movie)and spiderman. he liked ripsaw falls(bring the poncho),was scared in jurassic park, loved flying unicorn. he was too small for the big coasters. we enjoyed ioa more than any of the wdw parks because of the rides and the crowds were a lot less when we were there.

Thanks to everyone who voted and posted!
Looks like IOA is coming out the winner.
I wish we could still squeeze in Sea World, too.
Just not enough time!
I guess we'll have to start planning our next trip as soon as we get back! ;-)

thanks again!!

To me, they are 2 totally different parks, so it would be a matter of personal preference. IOA is a fantastic amusment park, with lots of great rides and attractions. Sea World is more relaxing, pretty and somewhat educational with only a handful of rides. Have a great time with whatever you choose!

My vote for your age of children would definitely be Sea World. It is the best Sea World in the country and there is so much to see and do. I loved IOA but for your age group some of the rides and shows will be too much for your younger kids except for Suess area which is awesome. I would wait two-three years until your 4 year old is 7 when all the ages of your children could enjoy more of the rides at IOA. You might have some very disappointed kids if you don't.

I agree with the above, Seaworld. We just did both last month. IOA is great but unless your kids are very brave, most of the rides are geared to older kids. Suess Landing is wonderful themeing but not alot to do there, very few rides. It certainly wouldn't take you the whole day.

We were at Seaworld opening to closing and still needed more time. Kids loved both parks but they are older and into roller coasters.
