You are correct about point charts. To be fair, when we are talking categories on a point chart, they don’t specify between 2br lockoff and dedicated. There may be no standard view penthouses or lake view. Very well could just be theme park view. The hotel side of original poly has theme park view as a category so I’d be shocked if the tower does not. We also don’t know if every room type will have all viewing categories.
DVD/DVC have not given details. However, I think everyone trusts the Disney blog indicating there are 2BR penthouse. I think of it this way...if they don't have them, Disney looks incompetent for writing articles saying they have 2BR penthouse units less than a month ago.I've seen people talk about 2 Bedroom penthouse. Was this just speculation based on the Disney Blog or has DVC said what the room types are?
Not sure about anyone else. We didn't receive anything. Was anything sent to current members for cash bookings on June 4th? I know some public info included that date; however I can’t remember if I received anything, such as an email, directly from DVC.
I agree. I think long term the longhouses will be more popular for studios. If the tower studios are smaller -- only sleep four, only have one bathroom, etc. -- I could see the Longhouse studios being in higher demand once the 'new building smell' wears off. Every time there's a major refurb, there will be a spurt of interest for a year or so, but that will leapfrog between the two.
2BR lockoffs.Which rooms/categories will be the hardest to book 4-7 consecutive nights?
I consider the Disney Parks Blog to be an official Disney site, so I believe the penthouses are real. Yes, I could be wrong, but I doubt it.I've seen people talk about 2 Bedroom penthouse. Was this just speculation based on the Disney Blog or has DVC said what the room types are?
At BCV and other DVC resorts that have both dedicated and lockoff 2BR, those are booking categories. The dedicated are listed as 2BR villas and the lockoffs are listed as 2BR lockoff villas.Anyone know how BCV handles it? I believe they have a few dedicated 2BR and the rest are lockoffs?
Could it be a delayed payment so it hasn’t recorded until recently? The price per point was $250?One more tidbit of information for PVB, they have resumed resumed selling PVB.
Orange County Comptroller website had a few PVB deeds sold by Disney. I didn't go to early May, but I did see signing dates of May 20th and as recently as May 29th (both Disney and comptroller must be really slow for a contract signed yesterday to show up today).
These will show up in @wdrl dvcnews.com May direct sales report next month.
Nah. Looking at them now. As Maui said, they’re dated late May. Meaning that’s when they were drawn up.Could it be a delayed payment so it hasn’t recorded until recently?
Many years ago when I looked closer at deeds and tracked a couple resorts, what I recall seeing was a signature with a date of 1-2 months earlier. Those were good indications of a delayed payment.Could it be a delayed payment so it hasn’t recorded until recently? The price per point was $250?

I’m still at work, I can’t look. If there are no points, look and see if Disney is the recipient. Those might be surrendered contracts.Nah. Looking at them now. As Maui said, they’re dated late May. Meaning that’s when they were drawn up.
They appear to be from all over the US as well, so it’s not just an on site thing.
I’m too lazy to look up the price per point for these contracts, sorry; they’re the kind where Disney just publishes a % of a unit instead of listing how many points on the deed.
The 5 person studio is also beloved by those of us with a 4 person family where two kids need separate beds! The one bed/one murphy configuration studio doesn't work for us. Hoping the tower studios will have the pulldown twin! The 4 vs. 5 occupancy thing only matters when you are a group of 5. So, it may not have as huge an impact on owners specifically - though I imagine at the 7 month window it might have more an impact, depending on a few other factors.
I think there will be a huge number of room categories, and my gut tells me there will not be a magnanimous number of standard views (VGF has I believe 30 standard and 17 lake views in the original building). I suspect proportionally SV will not be too many, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.
I’m thinking (hoping) the studio set up will be for 5. DVC resorts since VGF all sleep 5 in the studios except CA properties, possibly a CA/Anaheim occupancy code. The 5 person studio is also beloved by those of us with a 4 person family where two kids need separate beds!
