Island Tours?

We are doing the Eastern in May and were looking at excursions. Any experiences on the St Thomas island tour and shopping or the St John Island tour? Is the St John tour worth the extra time? It will be my husband and I, our 18 year old Son and our 21 yr old “adopted” Son.
