Isabel - MA Eastern coast

Think the Eastern coast of MA will be hit by Isabel?

At work today they are mentioning maybe using a backup circulation system.

Predictions still have it hitting in North Carolina and then heading up and in toward VA and the DC area. NY/NJ may get tropical storm effects. You may miss out on this one.

The cape has been on advisories for a few days now because they are already seeing high surf. The eastern and southern faces are expected to get hit with some mighty big waves and wind.

According to the news for the past few days, we will be getting only minimal effect....20 mph wind and a few downpours. Nothing to worry about at all. The worst part will be the higher than usual seas 10-15 ft waves.

I'm hoping we get some rain from her into Saturday so my dh's work will change their big over time job to Sunday when he can work--- can you say Disney Money?

I think by the time it hits NE about all it will be is a bad rainstorm. I wouldn't worry too much Barb.

The storm itself is passing to our west so all they really have to worry about is the seas. Also, it sounds like mostly the south facing coastline, not the north, so DM in Salem has no problems. The Cape, again, high seas, but I dont think they arent even talking about any flooding.
Personally I think the news is really going overbaord about Isabel. Its ALL theyve been talking about for days. Id almost rather go back to heraing about Ben & J Lo.

The worst advisories for MA is Worcester County, the Berkshires, and NW RI.
I live in NW RI and we're expecting 2-4 inches of rain and 45mph winds.
