Is your home resort your favorite ?

SSR is our favorite park resort, but last year and again this year we have added a trip to VB which is definitely another favorite! Marie

VWL IS MY FAVORITE AND BCV IS MY DH'S FAVORITE SO WE BOUGHT BOTH AND WE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY!!!!:cool1:

It's hard to say at this point. We've stayed once each at our home resorts of SSR and AKV and enjoyed them both for different reasons, although the edge would go to AKV. We've also stayed at BCV and will have our 1st stay at BWV next month. The beauty of DVC is being able to try the different resorts and enjoy their theming and amenities. :lovestruc

I don't know, I haven't even stayed at my home yet (SSR), and won't even be staying there for my upcoming trip. It looks nice though!

I love your honesty!:rotfl2:
I have stayed at my home once, SSR and don't plan on returning until I have a golf/spa vacation when my kids are older. Probably not until 2020 :rotfl: (DD4 and DD1.5). I bought resale for the price/dues and 12 extra years as we are relatively young.
I have never once regretted my purchase, as it was the most bang for my buck.

My favorite resort is AKV, and would sell and buy there if the 7 month window closed, by disney or by "clogging".
I also plan on buying at BLT b/c I won't be able to say there if I don't own there.

It's kinda weird, I don't know if I actually have a favorite. We bought at SSR... twice because it was at first all they had, and then the add-on was less expensive as the incentives were better at the time.

If someone said, ok we'll trade your SSR points for any other property, I have no clue what I'd ask for instead. A younger childless me would have opted for BWV or BCV, but then again the same younger me would have also loved the idea of being really close to PI :drinking1 I do think I'm going to stop requesting DTD views since I whine that we can't go get our party on and which seriously annoys my better half :)

There are a number of things I like about SSR, including the proximity to DTD (we still like the restaurants and shopping), the more relaxed layout of the place, and even the fact that it's fairly close to do an off-property run for groceries or food and whatnot.

Of course I've said before I'm sure our needs will change as the kids get older. I'm already hinting about BLT (or KT or happy fun monorail land at the Contemporary, whatever it's called today). I don't think add-ons are in the cards though, and apparently talking about adding on is just annoying to my wife as whining about not going to PI

We own at AKV, and we bought there because we had stayed at AKL several times and loved that resort. I love the elaborate theming, the restaurants, and the cool factor of seeing animals from your balcony. Also, we drive down, so the more remote location doesn't bother us since we have a car to drive to the parks.

We would like to try several different DVC resorts over time though. First on our list to try (after a few trips home to AKV) is an Epcot area DVC resort--probably BCV first, then BWV. Ultimately we'd like to try them all. :)

We own at SSR & love it. We'll be home on Sunday. We have stayed at others and had great stays, but we love SSR.

So far yes it is. I have been to SSR, AKV and BWV.

I do like BWV very much and if they do a contract extension like OKW then I will probably add on there. However I do prefer my home resort.

We own points at VWL, AKV and HHI. Of these HHI is our favorite home resort (for off site) but my favorite on site resorts are BWV and OKW. I like VWL and also AKV but Epcot is my favorite park by far and I love being in walking distance. Also, I like the atmosphere at OKW as well as the larger accommodations plus it is not that far from Epcot by bus. If I could exchange my VWL contract with either BWV or OKW I would.

Yup, BWV is our favorite. But I haven't seen BLT, yet. I'm sort of afraid to - I'll probably want it.

Nope!
Own at VWL and BCV and BWV is my favorite:love:

Boardwalk is our home and after trying just about all the resorts (still have to try SSR and AKV) I can say it is our favorite. We still like to stay at other resorts depending on what we are going down for (we'll be at Beach Club before the DVC Member Cruise) but I just feel more at home at the Boardwalk.

Our favorite resort is... VWL, AKV, and VB.
Yeah, yeah, I know that's three resorts, but that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! :teeth:

Actually, I structured my point purchases at those resorts so I never need to use the 7 month window.

VWL is where we own and it used to be our favorite.

Honestly, we have had lousy housekeeping the last 2 times we have stayed (umm ... a cupboard full of dirty dishes). Also, we have never been facing the lakeside despite requesting it for all 3 of our DVC trips (I know they are only requests, etc.). We have actually had dumptser view and roof of boardwalk to the main lodge view - woohoo. And, also, during our last trip the feature pool was too warm to be refreshing and looked pretty messy (duck feathers, leaves and assorted debris floating throughout). I don't know, all those little things combined have made me second guess my favorite. Definately not feeling the magic with our VWL.

We are going to try for Animal Kingdom in August '09. I don't even think we will reserve 11 mo out at VWL ... we will book SSR or OKW (because we actually had our first every room request met here!!! And, the room was huge and spotless!) if we can't get AK.

We own at OKW, BCV, and BWV...

The Boardwalk, hands down is our favorite resort, second only to Hilton Head, which sadly we do not own any points sooooooooooo

My answer is Yes(BWV) and No (HHI)

We definitely find our home resort of AKV to be our favorite. We would love to add on with a resale for BCV strictly for location for when we have those crazy F&W Festival nights. :drinking1

We would have bought into DVC a number of years ago, but at the time we did not know about resale and SSR was the only option, which is nice, but its too much like home to be a vacation escape for us.

Honestly though I think all the DVC resorts are nice-they each have their perks. We stayed at OKW on cash a few years ago and loved it there too.
