Mine is...

I'm sitting here trying to post and he keeps jumping up in my lap, curling up in a ball in my arms and licking my hands...

He's not supposed to be a lap dog...

No, she weighs almost 100 lbs., she'd crush me.:p

But I do have a lap cat. He likes to climb up on my lap when I'm at the computer too, so I know how it is.;)

Nope, all three of our dogs are outside dogs, and only one of them would be able to sit on our lap.

My 90 pound German Shepard THINKS he is a lap dog. When I sit on the floor he rushes over and puts his tush in my lap and just sits there. It is the funniest thing.

I've got a 55 pound lap basset. He especially loves jumping onto my MIL's lap as she sits reclined on the lazy boy - it's an amazing feat of agility for one as short and stout as he.

I ask because in Monty Dog's case it is not only weird (
he's a jack russel terrier) but also really, well, for lack of a better word, annoying...

I literally can not sit down at the computer without him in my lap or crying because he is not in my lap. (he's in my lap as i type)

He is clingy...very clingy and I don't think it's a good thing. I mean he cries and whines if he is not in my lap or being held. He is perfectly healthy according to his vet, but I just worry...

I know it's weird... but I know it's not good when people (children esp.) are very clingy and just wondering if it's also not good in dogs.

When I say very clingy , I can not stress the word VERY enough.

:(

My furbaby is a 65 pound lap dog. He is also a great footwarmer!:D

He is so cute...part terrier? all terrier? boxer? I love that face!!

I have two lap dogs and no one can tell them they're not !!! even though they're 75 and 100 lbs. They're also waterbed dogs. It makes for a crowded, cozy night. Queen waterbed me, DH, and "lap dogs" and oh yes an occassional visit from the cats.

Mine wishes he could be! At 95 lbs., he doesn't fit on anybody's lap.

Instead, he's also on top of, or wrapped around, my legs. I swear, he's like a big cat or something, and he's going to take me down one day. Always slithering around and through my feet. Crazy hound!

Funny thing--when we talked to his first owner (Max's mother's owner, who gave him to us) this spring, he said Max was always a momma's boy. From day one, he'd follow her around like a shadow.

He went from his canine momma to me--clings to me like he did his "real" mom. He has a real need to be as close to me as he can. :)

Max is my baby doggie!

Yes. My guy is also very clingy. I think being away from me stresses him out. No matter what room I'm in, there he is. Right now, he's snoring away next to my feet in the computer room.

At almost 90 pounds, my Weimaraner wishes he could fit on my lap!

He thinks I'm his mother, wherever I go, he goes. And when I go out without him, he suffers from major separation anxiety! He's such a sweetheart, just don't try to get between him and me! The only people who can do that are my DH and the kids!

I have a chocolate lab dog that thinks he's a lap dog:p

Tipper is a lap dog. Mac is a lay-at-your-feet dog. Same breed, different personalities. Tipper will whine and beg for me to pick her up. I am her security blanket. She is a rescue so I do pamper her. But Mac doesn't mind--better her than him.

Harley is a new puppy, but he loves to be close to us, and will sleep soundly in my lap often... he barks and jumps to try and get up on the couch with us =)

It's only annoying when I'm on the laptop, because he loves to walk and lay on it, he fits right on it sprawled out =)

I hope he stays that way, you know, wanting to be a lap dog... when he grows up
