Both of our cats are very affectionate. DH got them from a friend of a friend when they were kittens (sisters from the same litter), and he is clearly their "daddy". Rosalind in particular adores him and has a special purr that is just for DH, and he is the only one who can pick her up and hold her for longer than a few minutes. With DH, Rosalind is a total love-bug all the time. With me, Rosalind will beg for attention, snuggle up with me in a chair or on the couch, curl up on my feet at bedtime, etc. but she won't let me pick her up and hold her in my arms for more than a few minutes before she gets squirmy.
Beatrice, on the other hand, we call the "purr hussy". That cat adores everyone, and she will climb into any available lap to insist on some loving. She likes to show off her pretty white tummy and beg for a tummy rub, and if she isn't getting any petting she will reach out and pat us with her paw until we give her the attention she wants.
Rosalind is our shy cuddle-bug, and Beatrice is the big flirt, but they both are very affectionate with us. I know it is because of how DH raised them (and spoiled them sometimes before we were married!). He says that when they were kittens they would curl up next to him on his pillow and he would fall asleep to a "purr symphony" with both of them purring in his ears.
