We booked the free dining and now I'm hard at work on my ADR's. I've been wanting to try some new restaurants and the Yatchsman sounds good. Is it really worth the 2 TS credits? I would hate to use 2 TS credits on a so-so meal.

I've only eaten there once (2005), but I thought the food was fantastic. I left stuffed to the gills.

Can't respond to TS credits, we pay cash. We've had a couple of very good meals there, and one pretty mediocre meal. It's worth a shot. Don't miss the dessert sampler. :earsboy:

We ate there the last two times we went but that was years ago. We loved it though. I have read good and bad reviews while planning our upcoming trip so I have decided to skip it this time and try something new.

We eat there last year and it was great. To be honest with you just depends on what type food you like. I would do it myself, but its just me.

We are DVC members at the BCV. We LOVE the BC and the YC, and we want the resort to be the best. We have dined several times at Yachtsman and every meal has been a disaster ~ wrong food served, grossly undercooked/overcooked, poor service ~ you name it, we have experienced it. Sorry to say it but I would pass.

We have had 3 amazing experiences there. Food and service have been excellent. We plan to go back in July.

You will get your "monies" worth. Here is a suggestion, why not stretch your points by having dinner one night on your Counter Service meal? Two good (filling) suggestions are Earl of Sandwich, or Wolfgang Puck's Express. Both of these "lunch" meals will satisfy you as a dinner, then it really not like your wasting 2 TS Credits at YSH.

We have a dinner here booked for our upcoming may trip and I almost changed it based on some iffy reviews here until I remembered... we went here in december and the food was fabulous. By far our best meal of the trip and that included previous favorite california grill (though we still love CA grill). My biggest disappointment was that it was our last night and we weren't able to take leftovers "home" but this time we planned better, we are staying at the boardwalk villas and are going on our first night.

We've eaten at the Yachtsman twice. Both times the food was good, excellent the second time. The first time the service left a lot to be desired. We felt we were treated poorly and looked down upon although we are not sure why. The second time the service was much better. Our server was much more attentive and checked on us frequently, meeting all of our needs in a timely manner. She still acted a bit superior, but it was much better than the first time.

We were there the first week of last September, with free DDP. We arrived in WDW immediately before free DDP ended, so we were able to enjoy free dining for our entire vacation (8 nights).

Yachtman was very good, however IMHO I would not use two TS credits there again. While our meals and service were very good, the experience wasn't what I expected after reading DIS reports about the place. Maybe reading those reports made my expectations too high?

In the end, my DW and I agreed, our Yachtman dinner just wasn't two credits worth of magic.

We did it last September and enjoyed it greatly. The dinner was delicious. I don't like to use 2 table service credits and enjoy other places just as well BUT it is a favorite of my mom's and my husbands so we will be hitting it again this trip. I hope it is as good as it was last year.

I am a big steak/prime rib eater so to me I am fine with Chef Mickey's Prime Rib or even Cornonado Springs. This was a nicer quieter atmosphere of course.

If during free DP window - that would be the time to check it out.

IMO, the food was very good; can't say the same about the service. We tried it once when the DP first was rolled out and were made to feel like a "charity case" by one of their 'most beloved servers':confused3 ...haven't returned. Sad, because we frequent the area; just left a sour taste.;)

IMO, lots of other good steaks on-site (Coral Reef, LeCellier even Spoodles) - enjoy.

It depends what your basis for comparsion is. Those used to Ruth Chris or Mortons will find it satisfactory at best. If Ponderosa is your metric, Yachtsman will seem incredible. ;)

We've eaten there a few times including our wedding which was fantastic. Last time DH's steak wasn't that good but mine was excellent. We are going back in August.

Is LeCellier as good as Yatchsman? I've read a lot of really good good reports on this restaurant and I was wondering if we would be better off eating there.

On one of our trips our meal at the Le Cellier was better (food and service) than the Yatchsman. However, on a subsequent trip our meal at the Yatchsman was better (service for sure, food was a bit better as well) than Le Cellier. They are different expiriences. Le Cellier is inside Epcot and therefore doesn't feel as upscale. The Yatchsman has a higher end feel and higher end menu items.

Thought I'd throw in another vote for Yachtsman... I'm not sure about LeCellier, but the Yachtsman was wonderful when we went in November! We had our wedding dinner there, and all 10 people raved about their food. Steaks were all cooked perfectly, and service was great as well. We can't wait to go back!

While I enjoyed Le Cellier, IMO, it doesnt hold a candle to YSH.
