We are going to WDW in July. My husband and our boys want to go to the Disney water parks as usual but want to try Wet n Wild or Aquatica OR BOTH. Before we pay for tickets we are wondering if they are worth it. They would go on T or Th not a weekend day. SO hopefully it won't be too crowded. My dd19 and I will hit the DISNEY PARKS on the days they go to one or both of these two parks. We have been to Typhoon and Blizzard a couple of times and would rather just hang at the parks.

My guys thought Aquatica was a dud, but love WnW! Check out their website, there are many more rides at WnW, and if your guys are looking for the wilder rides, they will be more than pleased! It is all about the rides and not about the theming there, so if they're looking for fake snow or palm trees, they won't find them. If they just want to experience a lot of different water rides, some pretty fast, they will be very happy.

There really aren't that many rides at Aquatica, but it is a nicely-themed place to relax for the day. I guess it's all in what you are looking for. I encourage you to check out both websites and see what you think they would actually ride, then determine if the tickets seem worth it.

Best of luck and have a ton of fun!

How old are your guys?? Our sons are 16 and 11. I think they would rather have fun exciting rides vs. theme/relaxing. I just looked at Aquatica and it looks really nice but it doesn't seem to have many thrill rides. I looked at some reviews...Wet n Wild had good ones on THE THRILL but some said it was dirty and old. What did your guys think??

Oh! I include my dh in my guys! My ds was 11 last summer when we went. Honestly, they thought Aquatica was a ripoff, they were pretty disappointed with the rides. They actually went back to WnW another day, they had such a great time. We are going back this summer, and they are already planning another day there. No complaints about dirty or old, but they tend to ride the newer, more exciting stuff. They are huge fans of the swirly bowl ride that flushes you out. I'll be lounging by the hotel pool, I'm not a big rider and I'd rather relax.

I checked out both websites and I think they will just try Wet n Wild. IF they like it...then maybe they will go back. They will also be going to Typhoon and Blizzard too.

I've been to both. Aquatica is a neat place, very colorful and new. WnW is okay. If you just want straight rides, then maybe WnW but if you want the overall experience, I like Aquatica. My 9yo had a great time there. My older kids liked them both.

Under the Universal trip report threads, there is a VERY DETAILED description/pics/report of Aquatica. I believe the user name was wwessing. It has over 100 posts and counting.

When we went last summer we went to both and loved them!

WnW is definitely all about the rides as PPs have said - they've got some crazy rides there. The wave pool is Ok too. But I preferred Aquatica for that one! WnW isn't dirty as such - I just think that less is spent on the whole theming, so in my opinion it's more basic in that respect, but lots to do!

Aquatica is lovely. I thought the rides were cool, but to be honest, I think I was more taken in by all the scenery. The wave pool is good and we loved the beach area too! In my opinion, it's definitely something that you should do once!

I hope you all enjoy :)

We went to Wet n Wild last vacation and had a wonderful time. Wild rides but lots of fun. If it is water excitement they want, that is the place to go.

Thanks for the replies. My son said he wants to go twice if they luv Wet n Wild. So...Wet n Wild it is. :thumbsup2
