Is Waiting on Free Dining Fun or Painful?

I've been at the World the last two years bounceback was offerd and opted to wait until I got home to book. (Well this past year I didn't actually choose to wait. I didn't find out about it until I got and saw it on DIS.)

Is it like waiting on Santa Claus on Christmas morning or sitting in the dentist chair waiting to get a tooth pulled? Fun with all the rumors or stress with not being able to nail down the plans?

Are you going with or without it? Is it a deciding factor, Yes we go or no food, no trip?

Just some question to pass the time as April nears.

Awful :scared1: So many questions, so little answers, so much anticipation. Its like an adrenal rush everytime I check the Dis ( which is all through the day). I am on spring break this week, why oh why could this have not been next week. I want some rumors!!!! Please....... please give us some rumors to help pass the time till the day we can finally call and give those 3 magic letters ( come on people not 3 letter words) to those that be:worship:

Terrible, it's awful, it's like knowing the bandaid is going to be ripped off!! I'm going either way, but it's gonna save me 700 dollars, so not booking until it comes out if it's not out by the 12th, I'll book on my own. But boy what I could do with 700 dollars in my pocket!! Someone leak something already please!!!!

All I think about is free dining. When is it going to be offered, what day will it start on, will it be in mid August or late August OR only September? AAAHHHHH! I hate it, but at the same time, the waiting is sort of an adrenaline rush that has me checking the DIS multiple times a day just to see if anything has been announced. I will still go if free dining does not fall within our dates, but Oh so crossing fingers, toes, and eyes:crazy: that it does.
:cheer2:

This is the first year that I've anticipated booking free dining. In the past I'd have said, "YES, it is torture to wait for & worrying (a little) over these darn Disney discounts!" However, this year I'm already booked with 40% off. Even though free dining will be better for my family, I'm still quite calm & content with my current discount. :)

It's bad! I just want to know if it will be offered the last week in August at all. Is that too much to ask? Ugh.

I've had free dining the last 2 years and while I could have booked the following week (which looks like when free dining dates may be) I booked the week prior...The parks last year when we got in (3 days before free dining) was dead but as free dining came so did the crowds. I opted for the quieter time this year and hope that it really ends up that way--though that would be nice savings to be had.

Its bad. I am on the dis all the time just hoping and praying a free dining thread will post and better yet its during my travel time. We will still go without a code of any sorts but I still am hoping!!!

I'm currently kicking myself in the tushie for NOT booking the bounceback when I had an opportunity.:sad2: I didn't think I'd want to go back this year. So, I'm loving the rumors and can't wait to see if Disney releases it. I've made my room reservations and all my ADR's. However, should they not release it this year, we'll still go, but we'll stay offsite, eat more off site, pack snack stuff in with us and trim the ADR's down to the ones that we truly want to do.

I'm with you, we're already booked with a 40% off code, but we're waiting to see if free dining is offered so we can make the switch.

We've actually held off on making dining reservations because we first want to make sure about the free dining. But other than that we're ready to go!

It's killing me. I'm sure my dates will be fine (Sept 12-19th) but I haven't booked the package yet since we're all so sure Free Dining is coming in the next couple of weeks. Plus I don't have a PIN Code or anything so it's going to save me about $600 on a 2 person trip.

I'm not sure. I think there's a kind of sado-masochistic element to this - so for those of you with that kind of nature, I guess you're happy  :rolleyes1 :scared:  ;)

There's definitely a painful element with all the uncertainty and waiting for even a shred of reliable information - but all of that has the potential to lead to feelings of pure joy and elation if the announcement works with your plans. Plus, we all seem to be willing to put up with all the painful stuff in the belief that it will lead to the pleasure.

We're sick, sick people.

It's a little of both! Frustrating to WAIT WAIT WAIT, but exciting to check everyday to see if anything has surfaced. I am also waiting on Southwest to release fares for Sept, watching the great rates on JetBlue to see if they stay until FD is released! The only thing that has finally come through is my Disney Visa! I got it in the mail last week. NOW IF I COULD ONLY USE IT!

We are booked, with the DDP, and the money to pay for it is in the bank. We have a 20% off PIN (staying at Beach Club) but the free DDP would save us more than the PIN. The only problem is the only dates we can go are August 24 - September 1. So it is SUPER painful for me, because I really don't know if our dates will be included. Even though I don't need the free DDP to go, I am not going to turn down saving that kind of money!!

I am going whether or not free dining is offered this is a trip for a present for DD's 8th grade grad ! But Free dining would save us somewhere in the neighborhood of $700 ! We have 3 Adults DD is considered adult price and 1 Child! And MIL maybe interested if free dining is announced! So there is our tip money and extra money for doing whatever! :thumbsup2

I am making myself ill because I am just so scared I will miss out on this deal. I already booked ASMO but it was because I went with a package thru Disney and the airfare was the perfect price and within my flight times and my travel dates. I keep running over my budget driving myself nuts over it. If i do not get to get in on the offer I will be short 500 bucks for my trip which means I will have to wait for the stimulas check to come. The check is not certain as I am not even sure I qualify since I am a single mom. I am willing to switch to any of the All stars as we have stayed at pop these past summers and we want to try something different. I know I have to get up early to get the deal but every night I wake up in a cold sweat freaking out about not being able to use the code and then would if I don't get the stimulas check:scared1: . We will be going regardless of the promo or not as we love Disney but I just want to get all my Disney finances in order before we go so I know how much money I have left over for that special pair of mickey gloves my little guy wants LOL If I have to get a part time job just to pay for Disney by golly I will thats how much we love to go.
