Hi,
Anyone have any experience about using a Visa Electron in DLRP?
Thanks in advance,
Ruby x

I may be completely wrong but I think you can only use electron abroad to draw money out of ATM's with. That is definitely the case with the one issued by the Co-op as I saw it when I was looking at their charges before we went.

Might as well make this my first post!

I have an Electron card for work and have only ever come across one place in the world that wouldn't accept it for a method of payment which was the Sheraton Hotel in Boston!!

I use my Electron card all over the world in shops/restaurants/hotels to pay for goods etc and also have never had any prob with any ATMs overseas either.
:goodvibes

How weird, maybe it is just the Co-Op electron then:

Electron Card

Cash can be withdrawn from machines which display the Link/Visa logo. Your card allows you access to the Visa network of cash dispensers which are situated around the world, for details of the ATMs locations please use the Cash machine locator.

The Electron card allows a daily withdrawal limit of £250 sterling equivalent in the local currency (subject to the funds being in your account at the time of the withdrawal)

The Electron card can not be used to purchase goods abroad, it is purely an access point for cash withdrawals.

I'd check with your bank before going to be sure as I couldn't use mine to pay for things either and that's from the Bank of Scotland. I could use Visa debit, but not Visa electron.
