I'm looking into this for a stay in January with 6 people.

I'm confused about which is which and are they the same, yadda yadda.....

Did this last year with Vistana Resort and Vistana Villages....eegads can't these people make things easier for those of us with mush brains? ::yes::

I believe there is Cypress Point and Cypress Point Grand Villas. They are seperate resorts but are next door to each other and you can use the amenities at either one (both are owned by Sunterra). It's the same idea as Vistana Resort and Vistana Villages.

EDIT; I believe the Grand Villas is the newer of the two.

There is also a hotel called Villas of Grand Cypress which is totally different. Its a hotel and is pretty expensive

Yeah, the expensive one is what threw me off, lol.

So which is better, the resort or the grandevillas?

Maybe I should start a new thread....read thru 7 pages all the posts about Cypress Pointe, went to their website, etc., but can't decide which might work better for us.

harvey,

I know what you mean, because I was trying to figure out which of the two would be better for us as well. It depends on what is important to your family...The pros of CP: all units should be newly renovated by spring of next year (I think many are already complete). The pics on the website look good. The volcano pool is there. Per the website, broadband internet connection is available there (important to my DH!), though not at CPGV. And the rates are lower. The pros of CPGV: newer section with great reviews, though more expensive.

FYI, Hotelkingdom has good rates unless you can find your dates and the unit size you want on Skyauction, which would be the better deal. Per the HK website, you have to pay the entire amount upon confirmation of your ressies, though you can cancel with a small canx fee and get a refund. No refunds via Skyauction.

Hope this info helps...Good Luck!!

Dh just found rates on hotelkingdom for the week we are going (in Jan.) for a 3 bedroom at $135 per night. It says 'villa', so I'm assuming that's in the grandevilla section. I really don't have a preference after looking over the comparison chart on thier site....but $135 sounds like a great deal.

Also....is this resort NE of the downtown disney area? Like sorta north-ish from that stripmall with the Winndixie? We've stayed at Vistana, so I'm vaguely familiar with the area, but mostly on the southern side of Int. 4....

Thanks!
