Is vibration on Fantasy felt at Aft elevators?

Hi,
I booked room 9152 for my cruise. This is Navigators balcony by the Aft elevator bank. 1st room forward of Oceanview staterooms it looks.

I have heard Fantasy has some vibration issues. Is this just the very back Aft rooms. Or do you think I will feel it by my room as well. Hopefully I am high enough. Although last few cruises DD did feel a little motion sick so I am worried about being so high up.

Also Have you ever had a room so close to elevator/stairs. Was this a problem?
Thanks
Kerri

Yes. We were in 9652 which is your room on the opposite side. Definite vibration but it didn't bother us. Sometimes felt like you put quarter in those vibrating beds in old hotels...lol. Loved that room location!!! So convenient, we stay in that room again!! We were in the forward on the Magic and the creaking drove me crazy!!!!

Yes you will feel it there. We had two connecting veranda rooms on the 5th floor right by the elevators (right before the ocean view rooms start). It only bothered us really one night, 45mph headwinds and we were traveling pretty fast so I think that is the reason. The rest of the trip was great but it was hard for me and one of my sons to sleep that night. Everyone else in our two rooms was fine.

Yikes....hopefully it's not too bad! I don't want to change rooms:o
I do love the aft location.
Prices went up and don't really want the whitewall balcony. So the price would jump up quite a bit.

Would you say the vibration would add to seasickness or is it just the noise?
Thanks
Kerri

Just being aft could add to sea sickness.
Would the movement feel the same forward or aft? For instance.....I think my cabin is 1 cabin forward of aft...
Feel the same 10 cabin back from front? Just curious I know midship is best... But I don't want to look down at lifeboats and big jump in price.
Thanks
Kerri
Edit sorry didn't realize above post went thru

We were in 10612 and 9098 on the Fantasy. The vibration was quite bad in our deck 10 room. In our deck 9 room it was less noticeable, but still there. The difference between the two cruises was one was the Eastern (deck 10) and there are long distances that need to be covered quickly. On the Western (deck 9) there are not as many days on end that the ship is traveling at high speeds.

The vibration was so bad in Animator's one night that the water glasses were dancing off the tables.

It didn't add to seasickness. It was the noise (creaking of the ship) and the feeling of the vibrations. Think cheap hotel beds where you put a quarter in to get them to vibrate. I've actually never seen one (only in movies) but I imagine that they feel exactly like this. It bothers some, doesn't bother others. We had two connecting rooms and it was worse in one room than the other, but it was still felt in both. We had 5162/5164. It felt better in 5162, worse in 5164.

I've always read that aft is better than forward in terms of seasickness. This issue w/ vibration and aft is specific to the Fantasy. They must have some sort of machinery that makes things vibrate when the boat is at high speeds.

Ok thanks. I will take my chances. And hope its not too bad.

We were in 7650 and definitely felt the vibration. It did feel like a vibrating bed or what I assume that feels like... It was very bizarre. I have never felt anything like it on other cruise ships. It did somewhat bother us. We had to leave the closet doors open at night to keep them from making noise.

Was this most of the cruise or occasionally?

I wonder why Disney dosent just fix this???

That's exactly what it feels like. Yes, I've seen/used one (a loooooong time ago:teeth:), but I imagine that they're still out there.

Maybe about 50% of the time. It was more noticeable at night but I am sure it happened during the day as well but we weren't in the cabin as much. Most of the days the seas were fairly calm. It certainly didn't ruin our cruise but I can see if you got a cabin where it worse that it would drive you absolutely crazy.

Ok so how far forward would I need to be Ya think to not feel it?

We were in 9650 on Fantasy, 17-24 Jan 2015, and I can't say I noticed any vibration.

I wonder if vibration is equal on port and starboard side.

Anyone know if fantasy due for dry dock? Or if repairs are pending?
Thanks

Our rooms on our B2B were one on starboard side and one on port side. As I said, the room on deck 9 (port) seemed to have less vibration than the one on deck 10 (starboard). I don't know whether to attribute that to the fact that it was a different side of the ship, or because it was more forward, or the fact that the western itinerary has less long haul (top speed) days than the eastern.

Both cruises the vibration in Animator's was quite obnoxious.

The Dream is going for her dry dock this year? I think? So, the Fantasy should be the next.

I'm not sure what repairs would fix the vibration, but I hope they can fix it.

We were in 7638 and 7640, and the vibration (and creaking) were horrible. The bed was the worst spot -- not so bad on the couch. It definitely made for several sleepless nights on our cruise -- probably 5 out of the 7 nights. There were 2 nights when we didn't have to travel long distances, and those were calm.

We are seasoned cruisers, and have never experienced anything like this. I would not sail on this ship again unless I were much further forward.

I will have to look again at the deck plans again at these room numbers.

My eastern cruisr goes to Tortola... Don't know if that requires more miles which might mean going faster/ more vibration
