Is two days too short?

Thanks all for the replies.

The real issue I could see is being able to hit the favorites at the different parks so park hopper is a must, but I fear how much time we would waste shuttling to the other park.

AK we could easily skip, but HS I love the tower of terror and she loves the Rockin Rollercoaster, plus Star Tours
MK - Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain,
Epcot - Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space, then the countries we were never able to see with the kids

Another vote for Disneyland. My bet is that you'll be able to hit more headliners in two days (with some substitutions). And since the parks are literally right next to each other, hopping requires no waiting for buses, boats, trams, or monorails.

There's Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Soarin, Tower of Terror, Star Tours, and Splash Mountain. Space Mountain is now the new Hyperspace Mountain. But if you like the old Space Mountain, the Matterhorn is just like it (except in a bobsled). Radiator Springs Racers is the successor to Test Track, in Carsland. California Screamin is your substitute for Rock N Roller Coaster.

There's plenty to do between the two parks that two days won't cover it either.

That said, if WDW is still the right answer for you, I would do it in a heartbeat. So far, I haven't found "free dining" to be a great value, but I might not have been looking at the right dates. In some cases, other promotions may be better... and save you money even if you add dining packages. Whatever you choose, have a great time!

With a good use of Fastpass+ and a careful choosing of the rides you want to do, 2 days is absolutely fine. We did 3 days once and were riding rides twice at one point.

Is two days too short? We have been getting the Disney itch.

Our last trips were late January 2012 and 2014 both 7 day trips with all 5 of us. Kids are now 13, 11, 9.

Every summer my in-laws take our 3 kids for a weekend and take them out of town. During this time DW and I have gone to NYC for the past 2 years. I have been toying with idea of the two of us going to Disney, the only problem it would be a short trip. Arrive late(10pm) on Thursday have all day Friday and Saturday and then fly back early Sunday(8am). Is this too short of a trip? We will be without the kids so we could hit our favorite rides and probably see/do things we wouldn’t normally get the chance with kids in tow.

The cost to go for room only discount, park tickets w/PH, and then OOP food would be on par with a trip to NYC(food, a broadway show, hotel). Our flights would be covered under some CC reward points.

Am I crazy? We have been eyeballing a trip in December with the free dining, but the cost is kind of prohibitive at the moment.

With just the two of you, it'll be a fun getaway. Make the most of EMH and park hopper.

I think it will be really fun! Make ADRs for a grown up place and celebrate your time away from the kiddos!

We have done Friday night to Sunday morning trips when we are visiting family about 4hours from WDW. The value really goes down with short trips but sometimes it is just needed and becomes worth it. We have had plenty of longer trips so we just enjoy the shorts for what they are.

We would totally be able to get thru the must do's and enjoy dinner and a hotel room to ourselves if we were in your shoes! It would be great!

I think for transportation purposes - I would put MK and AK on the same day and EP and DHS on the same day.

The trick becomes where to use your FP vs Standby..but I think that we would do EP FP (and maybe skip FEA) then DHS Standby and at night (with single rider for RNR if necessary) and to see the new fireworks.

And similarly - use the FP at MK and standby at AK.

I don't think we would sleep much! Ha! We would save that for the plane! (We are a couple - age 41 - with 2 kids 9 and 5!)

We have been to Disneyland once and for us, despite the amazing short park hopping experience - we still find WDW more 'magical'...

Another point is AK does not need FP+. S you could do AK as your first park and use the FP+ for the second park...
