6'3 240 and hoping to be able to ride a cycle and not have to put on the cone of shame and ride in the back
Disney deserved it for FOP. There should have been some way to include the disabled. And it still hasn't been added! Tron is a legit rollercoaster that seems to have put more thought into accessibility than FOP did. And all FOP had to was add a bench seat behind some glass.I'm 100% confident that some Disney news companies are chomping at the bit to publish stories about how it's not inclusive enough or how you might not be able to ride.
Don’t sweat it! You’ll have plenty of time to make new friends in that line! See you in the line of shame pal!6'3 240 and hoping to be able to ride a cycle and not have to put on the cone of shame and ride in the back
This would be good if they do that. It means there will be slight waits probably similar to people wanting the front row or back row of a ride who wait off to the side as opposed to potentially longer waits if you have to allow multiple ride cycles go by for these seats.DIS article posted today: Is TRON Lightcycle / Run at Disney World Size-Inclusive?
From the author - I hope what he heard is true:
"There was a line of people waiting for the “bench seat.” As of this writing, only two trains have this particular seat. I’m told they plan for all the trains to be outfitted soon. I’m not sure if this was always in the plans or decided now that they see how many people need it."

They announced this what 6 years ago ... if it were in the plans it would be done before the ride was open. This was an oversight that they'll have to scramble to do .. but not so sure how easy it will be to retrofit the trains without substantial down time.DIS article posted today: Is TRON Lightcycle / Run at Disney World Size-Inclusive?

Or pushing the release date back. They announced this what 6 years ago ... if it were in the plans it would be done before the ride was open. This was an oversight that they'll have to scramble to do .. but not so sure how easy it will be to retrofit the trains without substantial down time.
It’s been a few years since I rode it in Shanghai and I can say with confidence it is not a full kneel (nothing like a church pew)—the vast majority of your weight is definitely on your …not sure what words I can use so let’s call it a rear end. It’s not the exact same configuration as Pandora (I found it less uncomfortable, others find it more), but I would guess the weight distribution is similar? I think the locking bolts are to keep people from actively trying to throw themselves off a moving coaster.I can't do a full kneel (thanks to arthritis) which is what it looks like you need to be able to do. So I will most likely be in the back row on the bench seat.
I have a feeling this will be a one and done ride for me but that's ok. There are plenty of other attractions I can ride.
The possible modifications being discussed are not a quick fix. There is no was WDW will delay their opening for the amount of time it would take to order new cars, wait for them to be built snd reconfigure the system.Or pushing the release date back.
For informational purposes these threads are super important. They help people manage expectations and give information. Processes may change over time but these threads tend to be good reference points for people.
The FOP one was very long and very helpful. I'm not going to knock people looking for information or griping about potential issues as that may very well help another poster down the line.
Go back and read similar threads on GotG. Posters thought a very high % of guests will be violently sick. Way overblown.I don't believe everything on twitter but I do believe what has been posted about Tron. Why would CMs make up this stuff. Only a few trains have the regular seats and I don't see that changing as it would hurt capacity too much.

You can believe it was way overblown if you want to but there were a lot of posters who did end up feeling ill on Guardians but not on others rides. I'm not debating this nor am I interested in getting in one. I'm just saying that threads like these are really helpful to people, here now and in the future, on this forum, looking for information on it and a "well we should just wait" approach isn't what works for that. People asking questions, people posting videos, people giving tricks and hints it's all good to have. It's not about trying to be "right" about anything here, just about giving people as much information they can have to help them out.Go back and read similar threads on GotG. Many large guests have been able to fit on the cycle seats. One CM said it takes a.little longer to position... not enough time to also take a selfie.
Absolutely true. You can believe it was way overblown if you want to but there were a lot of posters who did end up feeling ill on Guardians but not on others rides
TBH I don't really care about all that. I'm all about getting the information out. Who cares if it's negative (which is one's perception but not absolute)? I don't. There have been a good amount of posters helping out and that's all I would really care about not about turning the thread into who is and isn't right. My point
The early posts on GotG thread suggested the % of guests affected would wind up significantly high
The fan sites are kind of negative, particularly people who post early. One CM mentioned the issue with selfies. A guest maneuvering into the seat might not have the time and ability to take pictures
