Do the plans they lay out for each park actually make for a better experience? As in where to go first, second etc lunch break etc
On my last trip, which was a 4 day, commando-style experience, I estimated that we were able to do 40% more by following the plan than we would have without it. You set your own breaks & eating times with varying degrees of flexibility - like, I want to eat at this place, at this time, but 20 minutes earlier or later would be ok, and the location of that restaurant is also factored into your plan for the day. As far as where to go first, second, etc., it seems counter-intuitive at times but I find that to be the magic because most people wouldn't be doing it that way at all.
