I've seen raves here and the website info looks great, but I'm not sure if his excellent service is right for us.

We're planning a 5d/4n trip for 12/9-12/13 to take in Christmas in WDW. I plan to arrive early on the 9th and to leave as late as possible on the 13th in order to max out our time. MVMCP is gonna happen. Our goal is to ride some rides of course, but after our '02 and '03 trips this one should be more of a "greatest hits" trip for rides. (Example: at AK, EE is a must-do multiple times, but ITTBAB is one we'll do if we accomplish everything else we want to do. ITTBAB is great, but we've done it and aren't desperate to do it again.) We really want to see the resorts, take in the park decorations, do our greatest hits and any new attractions, and relax at the pool if weather permits.

Are his recommendations a step-by-step, commando-like approach (which I did our other trips, and don't really want to do again)? Or is it malleable, so to speak? Is it worth the investment for us?

Thanks for input/experiences.

I think that if you are planning on being at the parks anywhere around Christmas that TGM is a definate must. You would be surprised how much you can get done in a short amount of time with TGM's plan. The way I look at it we spend a ton of money to go to Disney, what's another 20 bucks especially if it works. If it doesn't work and you are unhappy he will give you your money back. So you aren't really losing anything. I would give it a try.

I am an a big fan of the UG. In the past 10 years I have been to wdw approxmately 18 times. I always have a step by step guide for everyone to follow. For the first time I signed up for TGM on my Dec. 05 trip, he gave me two pieces on info that I found priceless!!! For the $18 I say do it!

I just subscribed to Tour Guide Mike and will also be going in December- the 9th-16th. I think the MVMCP information is very helpful and it has time schedules from Dec. 2005 to help guide you for the 2006 year.

There is a lot of reading, and quite honestly I was overwhelmed at first. But now I have found it very helpful. There is a section about MK with teens and active adults that sound as if it would be helpful for you if you are looking to ride the big rides.

There is a section that could be taken as commando, but really has room for you to adjust the schedule for your family.

I would definately recommend TGM!

Excellent. You guys sold me! Should I subscribe now, or wait until closer to our trip? I'll prolly get the UG and the Passporter, too, so spending another $20 is no big deal, like you point out.

I suggest you subscribe now, only because as someone mentioned earlier. There is ALOT of information to absorb, and it does take a little bit of time to learn how to get around. As you get closer the information will become more important, but any information now is also helpful.

I subscribed a month ago for our July trip and found his information invaluable! Lots of reading and navigating, but after a few times it got easier to understand the navigation. His suggestions are non-commando but he gives great tips on how to go about seeing what you want to in a way that you don't have to stand in looong lines.

You can get a $3 discount it you purchases though mousesavers or allears.

Oh, and his site also has a discussion board for any info you need regarding his advice! Good luck!

I'd subscribe now as well. It is an amazing amount of information there, and you have more time to check it out... The cost is the same, whether you join for a trip a month away or a year away so why not get all the time you can?

I agree that you should subscribe now. I just want to say that I have seen some folks (I can't remember on which board though) who are frustrated that some December specific info is not available. I just wanted to say that there is plenty to keep you busy reading until it is available and highly recommend doing so now. I just signed up a week or so ago for an early March trip and it is a lot to take in in such a short amount of time. With that said, I am sooo glad that I did sign up. There is some info that I haven't seen anywhere that I think will make a huge difference on our trip. ALso, we are going with our 20-mth-old and he specifically addresses that (and all) age group. I'll know more when I get back, but I feel that I have already gotten my $18 worth!
