I have ADRs for Tony's Town Square before MNSSHP. I have been reading so many terrible things about Tony's on this board, so now I'm worried. Is Tony's really that bad??? Does anyone have any other recommendations as to where we should make ADRs before MNSSHP? Thanks!!!!:)

It wasn't terrible to me but it wasn't the best. It was the last restaurant we ate at before we left. Before then we ate at LeCellier, Coral Reef, etc. Like I said, it wasn't bad. I'm sure that helps you out a lot ;). You should probably try it once and then decide. A lot of people have a lot of different opinions.

I happen to like it while I did not like Le Cellier and Coral Reef. To each their own. The biggest negative is that I can't have a glass of wine with my meal. Oh, and many people feel "ripped off" by the price of the pasta.

We ate at LTT before MNSSHP twice. Then when planning our meal before MNSSHP two years ago, I was all set to do LTT again and my children said NO! They wanted to try Tony's. We ate at Tony's that year and then again last year before MNSSHP, again my girls' choice. They don't like the food at LTT.

We love Tony's. We love the atmosphere and the food. Yes, the spag gets a bad rap because it's ok yet expensive (everything is though at WDW) but my girls loved it. I LOVED my steak and the creme brulee.

The waiters/waitresses also got into the mood and wore make up to look like HM CMs.

We loved it and we will definitely eat there again.

We really enjoyed Tony's in December. It was one of our favorite meals partly because we went in expecting nothing (too many bad reviews on the dis). I finally decided to give it a try because for years we had enjoyed places like Sci Fi and San Angel which get their share of bad reviews as well, so why not give Tony's a try was my motto. We ate there before MVMCP and it was the perfect meal for both convenience and food. Was it the absolute best Italian food I have ever eaten? No, but then I didn't expect it to be. And like Robinb, I don't think Le Cellier is the best steak house I have ever eaten at either. But I like it as well and will return. In the end, all, and I mean ALL Disney restaurants have their fans and critics. Tony's does seem to have more critics, its pricey (which makes it a good deal if you are on the DDP) but the portions are large enough to share if you are paying out of pocket. I loved the Lady and the Tramp theming and being right on Main Street is so nice, we sat in the little sunroom area and had a great view of all that was going on outside. We are going back again in October. The full service dining options for dinner in the MK are limited, and Tony's can really fill a need if you want to sit down, without characters and only pay one ts credit. You won't know until you give it a try!

We ate there last Oct before MNSSHP. We had eaten at Crystal Palace and LTT previously and wanted to try something new. While we enjoyed our meal, it was nothing outstanding, and the 4 of us decided that we did not need to go back anytime soon. We were glad we ate there once.

We had dinner there in January. I liked it. I thought that the food was good, and our server was excellent. The rest of my family thought that it was "just okay". Now they are all fans of 'Ohana, and I think that it that that restaurant is "just okay".
I'm in Robin's camp regarding the wine. I would have enjoyed a glass with dinner.

We ate there 2 years ago before MNSSHP. The atmosphere was great. The food was ok, I've had better and had worse. It's not on our list to go back anytime soon but that doesn't mean in a few years we wouldn't give it another try.

DW and I liked TTS. The food was good and the service was ok. We would go again. That said, it is not the best DDP venue we have been to but in the MK the choices are few unless you want a character meal for your TS credit.

:thumbsup2

Are you using dining credits or paying. I felt ripped off paying $18(cheapest thing on the menu) for spaghetti and meatball!!! Actually 2 large meatballs. And to boot it wasn't that good. How is that possible???

We liked TTS. We were right outside on the "porch" and it was the most amazing spot to eat and people watch along Main Street. It was our honeymoon and they decorated our table with all sorts of confetti. We would definitely go back. (But there are so many good restaurants right on the monorail loop!) But as far as easy and good before MNSSHP - I would definitely say TTS

We enjoy Tony's. It was good decent pasta. It was pricey for pasta but hey it's Disney world. This place is not known for a bargin. ;)

We love Tony's!! Give it a try and see for yourself. It isn't the best Italian food, but it is good, we have always had great service and the atmosphere is great! The tomato & basil pesto dip they serve with bread is to die for! It's worth it just for that!LOL I have the recipee and have made it a few times and it is so good and gives me my Disney fix!:goodvibes

The thing with Tony's is relativity: it's not that it's bad (in fact, we love it), it's just that there are more, better options elsewhere. We like the location and ambiance, and although the food hasn't been memorable, it wasn't bad either.

Give it a try. We ate there for a similar occassion (before MVMCP) and loved eating in the porch.

Me and DBF ate there for lunch on the last day of our trip last year and neither of us were really impressed. Maybe dinner is different though? We did Liberty Tree Tavern for MNSSHP which we loved! (yup, just the two of us adults). It's a character meal and they're all dressed up for halloween!

This year we're decding between LTT again or going to the concourse steakhouse at the contemporary.

Thanks for all the input, everyone! I feel much better about the ADRs at Tony's now. We're certainly not expecting a gourmet meal, and of course we know the food is overpriced. As long as it's edible, I'm okay with it!!! Thanks!:thumbsup2
