I'm trying to add some new ADRs to our upcoming trip...kind of stuck in a rut with our favorites...thought I'd try Tony's after seeing a good review on here...but went to Trip Advisor (love that sight!!) and it just gets terrible reviews!!! I really don't want to waste and ADR...especially since it's really not free dining for us this time...we had to upgrade to the reg. plan since we are staying in a value and it really wasn't that cheap. I'd love thoughts of those who have eaten there recently...would love to see a picture food TR too!:thumbsup2

This will be our 3rd straight trip eating at Tony's. They had the third best steak I have had at WDW and my fiance always gets the Seafood Diavolo and she LOVES it. She picked out 3 places to go in Sept and that was her first choice.

YES Tony's is that bad!!!! Theres a few threads about Tony's floating around. One poster mentioned Tony's is a disgrace and should be closed. I agree. Its TERRIBLE. I had the chicken parm, it was gross. My son had spag/balls, truly horrendous. I tried the meatball and couldnt swallow it. It was THAT bad. I cannot believe they call that italian food. Even the salad was wilted. Having said that, I have noticed that ppl who go there and stay away from dishes with marinara/tomato sauce really seem to enjoy their food. Im convinced the marinara sauce is the reason most of their dishes are disgusting. So if you must go, at least you know what not to order. But seriously, there are far better options out there than Tony's. You have Kona or Ohana next door. Within MK you have LTT or even CP for that matter. Plaza even. All better than Tonys! Lol

I'd NEVER order anything with pasta sauce on it there.

Tony's is the one place our overall experience was so bad we just won't venure back. Food was bad, service was worse! It is a shame because the setting is pretty nice and it really could be so much better!:sad2:

See, I wish I had this info when I was planning my ADRs...I wouldnt have ordered anything with tomato sauce in it! Then maybe my review wouldnt be so negative.

I agree with the above. Tony's is pretty bad. Its one restaurant I refuse to return to. And my son wont argue with me on this. We were both pretty disappointed with our meals. The fact that they call that Italian food is quite laughable actually. :lmao:

I actually like Tony's, I have been there 3 times for dinner and the food has always been good. My only complaint would be the wait time, we always eat there right before MNSSHP and it's always so busy.

I guess I am in the minority here...we really like Tony's! I actually LOVE the chicken parmesean...have no problems with their pasta sauce. We like to go during the Electrical Parade and ask to be seated outside...we have always been granted our request (sometimes just had to wait a little bit). It's a great place to watch the parade! I also love their creme brulee...yummy!! :goodvibes

Everyone just has different tastes...some places I don't like, that i'm sure others on here do, and vice versa...just give it a try, you never know!

Tony's is AWFUL. I've eaten there on three occasions - twice the pasta was overcooked and once it was undercooked. The tomato sauce is straight out of a ten-pound can. The chicken was overcooked and dry both times I ordered it. It's an absolute embarrasment.

Ate there once. thought everything was just ok. Food was not bad, but like Olive Garden quality. Service was below average for WDW. Still overall, good experience for location, atmosphere etc.

In a word YES, it's that bad.

I cannot give you one redeeming quality about it. Atmosphere was more like a fast food restaurant. Food was pretty bad before I found the hair in my pasta. Server must have taken lessons from Claude Raines, The Invisible Man. It is on our never again list.

We like Tony's. As a few other pp's have said we don't get anything with red sauce. I usually don't order red sauce no matter where we go I guess we're used to mine. I don't get the pp that said it's a fast food atmosphere?

We ate there for dinner two years ago and had a pleasant experience. The food was okay, nothing over the top special, but definitely not bad. Our service was fantastic. We had an excellent waitress. She went out of her way to help my picky daughter. We really needed that good experience too. We were exhausted. We had driven overnight to get to WDW and had spent the day at Magic Kingdom while we were waiting for our room to be ready. We were having fun, but worn out. Our waitress was exceptionally kind. I wish I remembered her name. She was a prime example of what Disney service should be.

I ate there earlier in the month and I can see both sides of the argument. We had an excellent server, one of the best out of all of the ones we had on the trip. As for the food, I think you just need to get the right items. The pork is AMAZING, though the mashed potatoes it came with with were not as warm as the should have been. I had the mushroom tortelloni which was not good. It was edible, but it's barely a mushroom dish. The portion is small and the pasta to filling ratio is 80/20. The red sauce was a sweet one and just too thin for me.

That being said, I think people should make their own decisions about restaurants at Disney. Tastes are so different.

Eaten there twice now in the past year and I have no complaints. It's a nice change of pace if you want to try something new.
