Is Tomorrowland becoming Pixar Land?

After seeing the rumor of Stitch's Great Escape going bye bye for a new attraction based on Wreck it Ralph/Incredibles for maybe 2018, it occurred to me that there is Buzz and Monsters Inc there already. Now another Pixar/Disney property of the same ilk is ready and probably rightly so about to come into Tomorrowland. Well if true then tomorrowland really should just stop pretending about its theme and just go full throttle into changing it's theme once and for all. They could convert the speedway into a Cars themed attraction or even bring the DCA ride right to that location. They could also bring COP over to EPCOT where I think it belongs and fits nicely to the parks theme. It would also give a reason to what do we do with these Innoventions buildings. Well lets put COP in one of them. Thus freeing up that real estate for another Pixar attraction. Space mountain could probably just be left alone or themed to the land as well as the People mover. Astro orbiter...who cares. Redo it or bring it down. I don't think many would mind. It just seems that with Pixar creeping in, which I have no problem with, pretending Tomorrowland is actually what it once was and obviously isn't anymore, that is should just be jettisoned for the Pixar theme all the way.

I'll play along with this. Space Mountain could be WALLE themed. And change Astro Orbiter to an UP theme, with balloons instead of spaceships. I don't see it ever happening, but it's fun to think about.

Sadly, Disney seems to be going more and more toward an IP model in each park. Personally, I think they've lost their imagination and vision to the bean counters.

IMHO, there's nothing wrong with a mix of IP (like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc) mixed in with non-IP, such as CoP, People Mover, and Astro Orbiter. Its just when it becomes all IP is when I have a problem.

Tomorrowland is my favorite land, love every ride (yes, I even enjoy Stitch), but if it did become refurbed with Wreck it Ralph/Incredibles/UP/Cars I think it'd be cool. Stitch needs to be redone, it's hard to find anyone who likes it these days. Astro Orbiter mixed with UP would be very cool, but I can't imagine they'd do that because UP is not really "Tomororw". WALL-E could be cool. It's hard, who knows what they'll do.

In our hypothetical "Do whatever you want to the park" mind! I do the same.

I don't think this will ever happen, but I think the hypothetical idea is kind of fun. CoP would be great in Epcot, and then maybe they could move Finding Nemo: The Musical to that space. Space Mountain could theme to Monster's Inc. as well, themed to the tracks the doors run on and trying to find Boo at the end of the movie. I would love to see an Incredibles attraction. (Wreck-It Ralph is not Pixar...) The Speedway would be perfect for Cars. The PeopleMover could re-theme to Wall-E, and I like StarCruiser's idea of theming the Astro Orbiter to Up. And then bring back the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground from Hollywood and theme it to A Bug's Life, and move Merida over to the new land. It could be quite cohesive!

Completely agree, the days of new Space Mountains, HMs, PotC is long gone and it's sad. I actually really like Stich as an IP for Tomorrowland, but that ride is just blah. I also love Monsters Inc., so I don't mind the laugh floor. My absolute favorite is Toy Story, so I freak for Buzz. But I 100% agree with you

I NEVER thought of Space Mountain as Monsters Inc. with the door factory, that'd actually be REALLY cool. I agree, I would love to see an Incredibles attraction too, especially with Incredibles 2 coming out in the near future.

I agree about the door factory being a neat idea for Space Mountain. It'll never happen though. Space Mountain is a classic and icon of the park. I don't see them changing it.
Cool idea though!

Oh no doubt, they'd never touch it, unless they did something like they did to DLs Space Mountain.

Another poster mentioned converting the speedway to Candy Crush from Wreck it Ralph.

I think I'd rather see that conversion than be reminded how much a cheap Cars conversion is not RSR.

I just feel that tomorrowland is ripe for a pixar take over. The other attractions are dated and don't mesh with the old '67 tomorrowland theme intent originally built. It's changed so much that the hodgepodge look to this area of MK just dose not have any rhyme or reason to it anymore. If the powers that be keep placing the newer IP's in there just go with it and do it already. What really is annoying is the fact they place Pixar in tomorrowland, Pixar in HS and Pixar in EPCOT with Nemo and M&G's. Then lets put a GOTG attraction in EPCOT in future world( I know it's marvel). It just seems that cohesiveness of gradual themes throughout a park has just gone out the window. No regard to a well thought out layout of the land. Tomorrowland is problematic of just that. There seems to be almost a fear of commitment in any direction with it.

I think they could totally do that with Space Mountain just like the did in DL. That attraction is just as Iconic in DL and the retro fit it several times through the years.

I like those things as well, but I also like the non-IP rides like PotC, CoP, and others. IMHO, there's room for both of them in a park.

I guess that's why I like Epcot the best. Its not really a "ride park" and its not an IP park.

That's also why I like AK too! Well I guess now with Pandora, but still lol. I agree with Epcot, even it's 2 biggest rides are non-IP which is cool.
