Is this waiter ripping off Disney??

Has this happened to anyone else? We dined at WCC last month and used the DP. The charge for 2 children's meals was $99! I've been pretty busy since returning from our trip and wasn't sure what to do about it, but a recent thread, "Is this waiter ripping off Disney??" has me wondering about it again.

The waitress at WCC rang up one of the meals twice. There was 4 of us on the dining plan and she only took 4 TS credit but I noticed one of the meals was rang up twice adding about $30 to the bill or another $6 to her automatic tip. I pointed out the mistake and her answer was that she charged the correct number of TS credits so not to worry about it.

But I had the same thought that she was doing this to bump up her tip.

I think it is too late to do anything now, but I probably would question it before leaving the restaurant.

because you may have some typos in your post that may be confusing me...

but I would call and find out. If it was charged to a credit card, it is NOT too late to dispute!!!

And I can't imagine Disney not trying to resolve it. They do such a great job at tracking...they will know exactly what the charge is for.

Don't fret. I think you'll get your money back

"We dined at WCC last month and was used the DP"

Thanks for pointing that typo out. I went back to the OP and removed the word "was". It should have said "We dined at WCC last month and used the DP"
Just to clarify....my credit card was not charged $99, we used 2 children DP credits. DISNEY was charged the $99!

This could have been an honest mistake or it could be outright fraud.

I merged Tinkamom's thread in with the original thread on the same topic :)

OK. I have this situation to tell about and I want to know what you think.
We just got back 2 days ago from a week stay.
We were on the dining plan. For those of you who don't know they give you a few different bills. They have the bill with the prices on it that you sign for, and they have the bill with all $0 that you keep.
But then they also have the adult bills separate from the kids bills.
So mostly we would leave the table service restaurants with 2 bills. Ours around $60 and the kids around $30 but ours all read $0
I really wanted to pay attention to what we were spending on food to decide if I would use the dining plan in the future.
So at each restaurant we would write the price onto our copy and bring it back with us to the room and stick it with our stash of receipts to look at later.

Well, this one particular night, it was semi late for our family......the kids were READY for bed..........ok, past ready.
We got the 2 bills. The adults for $57 and the kids for $53..........WHAT $53???????
The kids meals were $7.49, which included the drink, appetizer, entrée and desert. We ordered my son an extra side salad too...........ok add on the tax and add on the tip...........it should not have been $53!!!!
This was the first time the bill was not itemized also!

I wanted to wait for our waiter and question the bill, but my husband pressed on me that the kids needed to go, and did it really matter? It was still the same price for us, we pre paid!!

My question is though, is this guy upping the bill because his tip is a % of the bill??!!!
I was blown away, I really think that is what is going on!
I think it is not everywhere, and not everyone........but some dishonest, smart people are taking advantage of the dining plan!!!

What do you think??
I didn't keep the reciepts........should I contact someone to take a look????

Which restaurant did you dine at?

I just found my receipt and looked it over again. I somehow ended up with the store copy:confused3 . It says TS Meal child $99.38 but then lists the adult TS as 73.42!:confused3

After I add everything up, it looks like disney was charged the right price after all. I'm not sure why they had the child's meal listed as $99.38 though. Very confusing!

The thing that actually caught my eye was that the adult price and the kids price was about $5 different. 2 Adults 2 kids......I was just surprised. I didnt think that at first........just wondered how the price got so high. We did order the meal just as shown for the $7.50 for the kids, with one small salad added extra.
The more I got thinking about it, the more I wondered about it.

So for any of you who think I should make a phone call, who do I call?

I am seeing that more and more people are seeing the money higher but the TS credits correct, just like us.

I also have this posted in a different location........here is a response that was just posted over there.

In the park that I work as a server, we have had about a half dozen people fired in the past few months for doing just that. One situation was along the lines of adding a specialty drink ($6ish) to each person, EVERY time a ddp came in. It amounted to anywhere from 60-150 a day in over billing and 9-24 or so (rounding off) in extra gratuity for the server. It's a dangerous practice and I wish that you had mentioned it to the manager. The bill in my location would have really shocked you though. Kids meals come up as $4 each (even though they are around 10 with tax and tip) because the computer only grabs the entree portion of the meal, no drink, apps, dessert, etc. on the kids. All of that is added onto the adults portion.

I use to work at Disney as a server. I noticed whenever I swipe the card for the children meals first, the price is always greater than the adult price. We were trained to always swipe the adult meals first and then the children.
