Is this true- no more turkey legs?

I know this is silly, but I remember the last time I was at WDW (long time ago, 1990) I saw people walking around eating turkey legs and I wanted one so bad but never got to get one. So I was looking forward to being able to get one (or two!) when we go in May. But I read on allears that they no longer have the turkey leg booths. Say it ain't so!

They had them in Feb. I don't know about May. Good luck. My dd will be very upset if they stop selling them!

Oh, thank goodness. They said on allearsnet that they closed the turkey leg booths in 2001 and didn't know when they would reopen. Only on this board could I come here and admit to being upset about possibly missing out on DW turkey legs! I don't know whether to laugh or cry at myself...

The turkey leg booths have been reproducing at a rabbit pace. The past few trips it seemed at every turn there was another vendor with turkey legs and long lines behind it. I don't think you are in any danger of not being able to find one somewhere.

But alas, of course they aren't going anywhere... Thye used to only be at MK, but even on the last visit they were EVERYWHERE!!! At all the different parks...mmmm...turkey legs for breakfast!

I find the turkey legs at Animal Kingdom to be especially fresh!!

The ones at the parks aslo have the long sliver like bones.

Caution: Do not buy a turkey leg close to meal time. You will spoil your appetite if before or be unable to finish the leg if after.

This is why I don't like them. The tendons, or whatever they are, make the legs a chore to eat. No thank you! On the bright side, it'll leave more for the rest of you!

Some advice- Don't try to eat the leg on the run. We usually try to buy one at Toluca when they first open for the day, then relax at the nearby tables and dissasemble it with a knife & fork. Ditch the skin, it's greasy. With the proper technique, you'll be able to remove the bone slivers and pare away the sweat meat right on down to the bone. Good stuff!

Last January I was standing in line at Toluca to buy a footlong. There was a couple behind me who (very loudly) went on and on about how could anyone actually eat one of those turkey legs? They thought they were the grossest things they'd ever seen. Well, as they got closer to the front of the line and everyone in front of them came away with a turkey leg, they got quieter and quieter!
