Is this true? Boardwalk daybed is tiny???

The 3rd bed at Y&BC is classified as a daybed and the mattress more closely resembles a twin sized bed. I've never personally been in a room with a daybed at Y&BC so I can't confirm the actual dimensions but I would imagine it to be similar to the old daybeds at the Polynesian which were significantly larger than the child's bed at BWI.

The daybed at Y&BC is smaller than both the old and new design at the Polynesian. We've spent many a night at the Polynesian and I'm sure of that. We also have moved at least twice from the Polynesian to the BC for a short stay so we've been able to compare from one night to the next.

SeaSpray, if it were my family we would have picked a non club level room at the Polynesian or Sugar Loaf too. Have fun at Sugar Loaf. We love it there. I'll be curious what your sons think of the snacks. They are very different from the Polynesian. ;)

I'm glad now that I decided to book the GF SLC, because I know my DS15 will be fine on the daybed there.
Another room option for you at Sugar Loaf is the lodge tower. They have 3 which are available by request and there is no additional fee for them within Sugar Loaf. This will give you some extra room and the little bump out has a sofa, chairs, coffee table and 2nd TV. It's also been confirmed by fellow DIS'ers that 2 of these rooms have a sofa that opens up into a bed, along with the 2 queens. The 3 rooms are garden view and unfortunately, the top floor room doesn't have a balcony. Triplefigs has some great photos from her stay a few months ago.

I don't know, Tammi. I would worry that if I requested a tower room, I'd get one without the sleeper. Besides, I think the daybed is probably more comfortable than a sleeper for teenagers. :confused3

I just returned from a split stay of Poly/garden view and Boardwalk. The daybed at the Boardwalk is an uncomfortable joke. It's small. The sofa's at the Poly and AKL are very comfortable and will sleep an adult without a problem. We had a room at AKL in the past with bunk beds and the sleeper sofa. I was very disappointed in the Boardwalk and I tried to get back to the Poly but they were booked. The refurbished rooms at the Poly sealed the deal that the Poly is the only resort that I'll stay at now.

Based on personal experience of having stayed at the BW Inn, the Polynesian, the Yacht and Beach, the Contemporay, the beds at the BW Inn, not the Villas, are the same size as the Yacht and Beach. The design might be different but the mattress is the same size.

The Polynesian and Contemporary have always had larger ones with a real Twin size mattress on them. The news ones at the Polynesian and Contemporary are also twin size but designed like a futon where the back folds down to become part of the bed.

A twin size mattress is 39x75.

The Villas at the BW have a different daybed. It is smaller.

My three daughters and I spent the week between Christmas and New Year's at the BC, and then the last week of March at BWI. In both cases, my 13 year old daughter (about 5'2") slept on the daybed with no problems, and neither she nor I could tell any difference in size between the daybed at BC vs. BWI.

The daybed probably is more comfortable, but that would only be a request too if you have 4 in the room. I guess it would all depend on whether I wanted the extra space or hope for a daybed. If it gets me to Disney, I'll gladly sleep on anything :teeth: .......

I think the daybeds at BWI are on the larger size. My two daughters 12 and 10 slept on it and it was perfectly comfortable for them. They had extra room and with my 12 year old "kicker" as we call her my 10 yr old was fine.

LOL, I agree about being happy as long as I'm at WDW.

But I do think the odds of getting a room with a daybed are great especially if you request it. The dormer rooms don't have them I believe and we've twice had an accessible room in Sugar Loaf with a loveseat instead of daybed but I think most rooms do have them.

Several years ago, we had a few adults in a room at BWI. I'm 5'9" and pulled the mattress off the daybed and slept on it there. My feet did hang off the end, but I slept fine every night. It's much more comfortable than a sleeping bad in a tent.
