Does the Polynesian offer nightly turndown service? Concierge guests receive this upon request.

I just read this on AllEarsNet. I thought concierge automatically get turndown and the rest of us can request it. What's the real deal, here? I wanted turndown service for that extra magical touch. :confused3

When we were at the Poly 2 years ago, we stayed concierge and automatically got turn-down service. It is a nice touch!

we have stayed concierge and gotten turn down service automatically. i would never ask for it, it does nothing for me personally. seems like a waste if you ask me.

We stayed POLY concierge last October. Mousekeeping came to the door the first night and asked if we'd like turn-down service and we said yes. Every night after that we had turn-down service. Don't know if she asked that first night simply because we happened to be in the room or if they always ask on the first night and then follow suit for the rest of your stay. My boys really enjoyed coming in from the parks at night and finding the beds turned down. :goodvibes

Does anyone recall approx. the time in the eve. that they came to provide turndown?
I hate to ask for it, but like it (can live without it). DS goes to sleep a little early.
OT, do you have to ASK for robes. I like those, too, but hate to ASK all the time.
All above refer to concierge.

at the WL it was between 4-6 on the club level. They did it auto. We were in the room once, and they asked, when we said no thank you they gave us a few mints and said have a magical evening.

If I remember correctly, at the POLY it was between 6 and 7. We were only in the room the one night but other nights often went out around 6 and would see the Mousekeeping carts in the hall. Mousekeeping would come around, pick up dirty towels from the rooms, replace them and then do the turn-down service.

When we were there last October there were two adult sized robes in the closet in the room.

I, too, hate to always ask for stuff but the concierge staff was so helpful and pleasant that I didn't feel strange asking for anything we needed (or wanted).

Yes, non-concierge guests can request turn down service as well.

Thanks. This is good to know. How do you tip the turn down service?

I generally tip morning service $1/person and then tip turndown $1/bed. (I may be cheap???) I made envelopes up ahead-it was really convenient to have the money all set aside and not be looking for change. I would leave the envelopes on the pillow of the bed.

I really liked turndown service for the clean towels and trash pickup and the kids loved the chocolates. Now that my youngest is potty trained the trash pick up won't be as important.
