I want a pair of nice black work pants. I want machine wash, tumble dry, no ironing required.

We can put men on the moon, invent multiple "erectile disfunction" cures, and create golf clubs that are guaranteed to improve your swing, but I can't find pair of pants that don't require dry cleaning and an iron? :confused3

Liz Claiborne has some nice no iron pants.

My favorite is www.eileenfisher.com The clothes fit beautifully and most are machine wash gentle, and either drip dry, lay flat to dry, or tumble dry, seldom is ironing required (unless you are a bonehead like me and forget them in the dryer for three days...)

I bought a 3 pairs of Worthington pants from JCPenney. They're awesome. I toss them in the washer and dryer. I've never had to iron them. They always fit great, no shrinking.

I think they were a decent price, too.

Everyone probably thinks I'm wearing the same pants, but I'm not....really...I have 3 pairs! :)

When I go to court, I throw on a black blazer and it looks like a suit. If I'm not in court, I pair them with a sweater and they still look professional.

I have the Liz Claiborne Care-Free pants, and also a pair of Dockers that are wrinkle-free.

I have several pair of Briggs pants that I found at Kohl's. They are wash and wear, unless you leave them in the dryer too long after they are dry and they get all wrinkled then. . They are very comfortable and look nicer then they really are, meaning they don't look like $25 pants. They usually have some blazers or other coordinating pieces that go with the pants. The style I have are the wastless ones (elastic with the side zipper). They are like wearing pajamas to work!

Now try to get 'em in a 34" inseam. :teeth:

Good luck, hon! I hate trying to find pants that fit and now winter's coming on. If I can get them to fit, then I just go ahead and iron 'em.

JCP online has great selection of Talls.

Yeah, this is where I usually get my pants. Unfortunately, I get a little tired of the same style, color, etc. I just hate winter when I can't wear skirts/dresses.

I can't iron worth a darn. I have two very nice blouses and one pair of pants that I will probably never wear again because of this. I have no idea why I can't iron...seriously, the clothes come off the ironing board looking exactly the same as when they went on. :confused3

I just found two great pairs of pants (in khaki and chocolate) at Casual Corner...and don't you know they didn't make them in black??? How can you have a style with 8 different colors (including indigo and magenta???) and NOT have black?

I have tried on every pair of pants in three malls. I didn't try Liz Claiborna because they're usually too long for me...maybe I'll go back and check them out.

I just bought a pair from JC Penney's, they washed up and dried without a single wrinkle, and they look great, very dressy!

Here they are, shown grey but they do come in black:

I found the trick to ironing is to use spray starch. Spray the clothing then wait until it is dry, then iron. If you iron when the starch is still wet, it scorches the bottom of your iron. That really does help. I send all of DH's clothes that have to be ironed to the drycleaner. It runs maybe $60/month, but it would take me about 10 hours to iron it all, so my time is WELL worth that!

I actually have mine on today. I got them at Walmart (shh, don't let anyone at work know :) They are the George brand. You can wash them, put them in the dryer and they come out perfect. I bought them last fall; I'm sure they were under $20. I need to get more. It makes getting ready in the morning sooo easy.

I find it helps to turn the iron on - it works better when it is hot :rotfl2:

Walmart, K-mart or Sears. I usually have to have mine hemmed as I am very short. If I can find black capris they fit the length fine.

I have a few different pairs of black pants from Old Navy. They are all great, very wash & wear, no ironing required. Most of their pants come in 3 lengths; regular, long, short.

Old Navy

I have a few pairs that are wash, dry and wear. In fact, that is what I look for now.

And I suppose you want pockets in those pants, too :) Because we all know that women's dress slacks don't have pockets because, apparently, women don't need pockets like the rest of the human race!

If you can get away with a Dockers type pant, try Lee Plain Front pants. Much like Dockers -- come in long (which actually IS long and don't shrink!!!) and are cheaper than Dockers.

I have two pair from Chadwick's that I wash and dry......don't know for sure if I'm supposed to, but I do. Haven't had a problem!

I love the pants at Lands End. Most of the pants can be hemmed to your specification at no extra charge. Great style and color selection, reasonably priced, too.
