Ok, I need your help! We have one day to spend in the parks and there's me (6 months pregnant) and DH and DS (22 months). This is our third trip to WDW this year so there are only certain things we want to see or do.
Firstly, we're staying at Saratoga Springs (I love my DVC!) and will be using only disney transportation.
We plan to go to the magic kingdom for a haircut for DS, ride on train and maybe some french toast loaf for breakfast from the main street bakery.
Then off to epcot via monorail to see the new Nemo ride (skipping turtle talk as we've done that already this year) take the free photo at the visa rewards place and lunch either at Garden Grill or Chef de france around 150pm. Then walk around the world showcase whilst DS naps in stroller or maybe just veg out ourselves on a park bench and then see the 5pm candlelight processional.
Then off to MGM (maybe walk via the international gateway or take the boat there?) to see the osborne lights (which are between 6-8p) and then dinner at either Hollywood and Vine or Prime time.
Am I really pushing it? We have been many times to the world, but I haven't done 3 parks in a day since 1996!
Our other choice is to skip Epcot and just go back to the resort for a nap...but I so hate doing that as often times my son will fall asleep on the bus before we get back and be wide awake in the room for hours!
Aghghghhgh decisions decisions...my husband thinks I am crazy!
:yay:

It would be way too much for us - I'm tired just reading about it :rotfl:

However, we take things very easy on our trips - two parks are not unusual for us - one in the morning and one in the evening, but we always go back to the resort in the afternoon for a bit.

Whatever you decide, have fun!

You're pregnant???Congratulations! I'd say, plan it, and then let your body tell you if it's do-able or not. I've done it, with all kinds of health issues and foot pain, and didn't suffer too much for it, but just don't push yourself if you're feeling a little tired.

I don't think you're pushing it at all. Although you're doing 3 parks, you're not really doing 3 parks, KWIM? If you don't go past main street (except for the train ride), there's really not much walking around the MK. The monorail to Epcot is right out front, and you have a lunch break built in there. If you feel up to walking around WC, go for it, otherwise I'm sure you'd enjoy just hanging out. If you do walk around while ds sleeps, I'd definitely choose the boat ride. It's very relaxing, and you can wheel the stroller right onto it. Your ds will enjoy the lights, then another relaxing dinner to cap off the day. Not too much at all!

By the way, I totally agree with you about trying to return to your resort for a nap. When your kids fall asleep on the bus, they tend not to stay asleep back in the room, so you just sit around bored and frustrated. I've always had better luck just letting them nap in their strollers whenever they were ready. Then when they wake up, it's right back into the action.

Have a great trip!

I think its way to much since your pregnant and have a small child. I would just eliminate 1 park and I'd probably eliminate MGM. To me the candelight is better than the osborne lights.

Let's see...it sounds like a lot until you break it down
1)Haircut (no walking)
2)Train ride (again, no walking)
3)Main St. Bakery (eating, very little walking)
4)Monorail (walk to stations, sit for ride)
Okay, so that's one park and what? 100 feet of walking?
5)Epcot...much walking.
This seems like 1 park's worth of walking so far...with rest time built in. Good planning. If you think the toddler will sleep in stroller, that is. Otherwise, build in some resort nap-time.
6)MGM. Lights and dinner. Small amount of walking, little crisscrossing.
The biggest issue with this leg of the day is the transportation from Epcot to MGM. To save yourself further, take your time and take the boat. Walk ONLY if you really feel energetic!
Doesn't sound too bad to me, and yeah, I've been pregnant with a baby in the parks before. Depends on the person, the pregnancy, the papoose, and the planning (couldn't resist the alliteration, sorry!)
And as for the CP being better than Osborne lights, can't agree from the POV of small-child entertainment value. Sure, I like the CP better, but li'l kids get off so much more on walking around, looking at the pretty lights. CP can be loud, and you have to SIT STILL! Not easy for a 2YO.

I think the free photo is only available from 1 pm to 4 pm. This might have changed since we were there in Sept., but you might have to do that after lunch instead of before. Looks like a lot of fun for one day. Just be sure you can rest on the next day.
Susan

Thanks so much! I'm going to try and mull over it and make final plans over this week. I sure wish they had buses within epcot! But I do think I've tried to minimize the walking and I'll be sure to take things real easy...thanks! Can't wait!

It doesn't sound terrible to me even with being pregnant and having a toddler. As another poster said, you will be in 3 parks but it's not like you are trying to hit every ride in every park...you are really doing just some very specific things.
