Is this too much eating in 1 day?

I am now obsessing over my anniversary day at WDW. I would love to surprise my DH with the re-hitching ceremony and already planned an Epcot day for that day (DH's favorite park). But I keep going back and forth with what to do with meals for that day.

We are travelling with our 3 kids...the 6 year old energizer bunny who can go all day, the 3 year old who rolls with the punches and the 15 month old who can make life miserable when tired. We'll also have my IL's and my FIL needs to have an afternoon nap more than my kids!!

Before I had the bright idea of the re-hitching ceremony, I already planned PS's that day for Princess Storybook at 8:50 am and O'Hanas at 6 pm. I got the ice cream social for 2:50 so that leaves us at Epcot until at least 3:30. We could leave right after it's over and just rest at the Poly until O'Hanas. I'm also thinking we'll have to give the kids something to eat around 1:30 or so (I could throw granola bars in the diaper bag).

I'm looking for opinions...is this too many restaurants in one day? Too much scheduling? I'm afraid to move O'Hanas any later thinking that the kids won't make it. Thanks for the feedback.

I think if you made Ohana's a bit later it would probably work better. I know that you can't do that, but maybe you could do the rehitching on another day? My only problem would be not being hungry at 6 from the ice cream social. Is the rehitching only done at the ice cream social or could you do it during a lunch? If you don't eat too much ice cream at the social, you should be just fine. I haven't tried Ohana's yet, but I hear you get a lot of food and they have great desserts so save some room!:D

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, when I spoke to the CM today, she said there were no 6:30 or 6:45 PS's for O'hanas and the next available time is 7:00. You can do the re-hitching at lunch but that's another whole buffet at $20+p/p and we're doing A LOT of those the week we're there. I thought the ice cream thing might be a change of pace. I really do want to do the re-hitching on our actual anniversary...maybe I should just pick O'hanas for another night. WHY must I obsess over this?!?!

I think you might want to reschedule 'Ohana. The food is so good and plentiful that it would be a shame to go when you are not ravenous!

Good luck.

Maybe Ohana's on another night would work out better for you. You can still celebrate your anniversary there a day or two later. That way you (and the kids) could stuff yourselves with the ice cream at the social and not worry about spoiling your appetite for dinner. Since you are staying at the Polynesian, it wouldn't be too much trouble for you to get there another time. Good luck with your decision. You'll have fun no matter how you schedule it!:D

is doing the ice cream social on another day an option? that way the FIL, the children, and you all can get a little rest. i agree w/you about not moving ohana any later. however, as you said maybe rescheduling ohana might be a good idea. before you cancel the ps you have now, make sure there is something else available. good luck!!

I wanted to thank you all for responding and let you know that I moved Ohana's to the night before. That day we only had Sci-fi for lunch at 11:30 so it shouldn't be too bad. I was only able to get 5:40 but I'll make sure I don't eat too much for lunch.

For our anniversary day, I made a PS for 2 for LeCellier hoping maybe that my IL's will babysit for us that night. I mean, after our re-hitching ceremony, who wouldn't want a steak dinner for 2, right? We'll see what they say!!

Thanks again!!

Well, I was going to say either move or forget the ice cream social to allow for a mid-afternoon rest for several folks in your group who will need it. BUT, your new brain storm of getting a PS for two at LeCellier is brilliant! Hope the in-laws go along.....super idea and one I am sure the two of you will really cherish!
