Is this the end of Spectro at MK?

So with the new parade that will be part of the Summer Nightastic (or rather old parade if they are bringing back the revamped Electrical Parade), do you think this is the end for Spectro at MK or do you think they will bring it back in the fall?

As of right now- they say that all the things associated with Summer Nightastic will end in August. MSEP is part of that. I have read an article that says MSEP may stay around a little longer than that- but I personally don't think this is the end of Spectro. Spectro is to WDW what MSEP is to Disneyland. It is the classic nighttime parade. I highly doubt they would get rid of it without telling the public (or creating some big thing about it "glowing" away- like MSEP had before...)

They are temporarily replacing MK's Wishes with a different fireworks show (some say the "Magic and Mayhem" show from the Pirates Princess Party) and the SpectroMagic parade with the classic Main Street Electrical Parade.

It begins in June. (It is, after all, called SUMMER Nightastic! ) If you are at WDW next month, you will see Spectro.

They have to change things up every once in a while, and it's usually temporary. Spectro is a great parade and I highly doubt it's being retired. Besides, if it was, we'd be the first to know on here! LOL!

I'm glad MSEP is coming back and I'm crossing my fingers it'll still be there the end of September, it's my favorite parade and I'd like to see it again. Otherwise, we're skipping all parades except the Halloween one for MNSSHP (we're on limited park time).

So are the folks in California just graciously giving up their beloved parade for the summer? We were actually thinking of heading west this summer and kind of wanted to see it.

Sad if it just runs for 3 mos. I would like to catch it when we're down in December (since it won't running for our trip beginning the end of this month).

Wouldn't you love to see some of the floats pass you on the highway on their way from California???

Actually, I'm not sure how they travel, probably by airplane for something like that. But we DID pass a big yellow promotional Nemo Mobile going down the highway in the middle of the desert in Nevada on our way to Disneyland in 2007! After traveling for 2 days in the car, I couldn't motivate myself to turn the opposite direction and hunt it down for a picture, but it was still kind of cool!

While Disney's Electrical Parade will not be performing at Disney's California Adventure Park this summer, that Park will be welcoming the opening of Disney's World of Color Nighttime Spectacular later this year. So it all balances out to some degree.

When we first started going to WDW in 2000, MSEP was "on loan" from Disneyland as well - but I remember it at WDW in the 70's the first time I was there as a kid. I wonder when it made the move to Disneyland and Spectro started at WDW - anyone (Robo?) know?

Not to me it isn't...Electric Light was there long before Spectro and it was so much more upbeat and fun. I know I will be shot for this but Spectro, with it's silly masks and other stuff, was a bit on the dark side, in my opinion.

ITA!! I really didn't enjoy MSEP. I absolutely LOVE Spectro. The music and the floats are just spectacular! I would be very disappointed to see Spectro go away. It's truly magical.
