I am heading to WDW next year, staying at a DVC resort using purchased points (I am not an owner). We are a family of four and I will be getting park tickets from a third party, probably AAA. Once I am 180 days out I can make ADR's because there is a reservation in my name. At 60 days out I can reserve FP through the MDE app or web-site on my already purchased tickets. When I arrive at the resort, I will exchange those tickets for a magic band for each member of my famliy with FP and ADR information loaded onto the band.......Does this sound accurate?

No, you will get your magic bands in the mail before you leave......assuming you live in the US. AFAIK they aren't shipped to other countries.

Other than that, yes, you are correct. With a resort reservation in your name, even on rented DVC points, you can make FP+'s at 60 days out and anyone can make ADR's 180 days out whether they have a resort reservation or not.

As soon as you have purchased the tickets you can link them to your MDE account which is how you will make your FP+'s and ADRs.

You will receive MagicBands through the mail before you arrive because you are an onsite guest.

All of your data is in your MDE account. The MB provides the link to your stored data when you tap it at an entrance and at a FP line.

It's not really a matter of "exchanging" your tickets for Magic Bands. The tickets should be linked to your MDE account and then any Ticket media (cards, Magic Bands) also linked to your MDE can be used to access them. As long as your MDE has your stay linked as well as tickets you should be able to make your 60 day FP+ selections.

The thing to realize (as I didn't when the MagicBands first started) is that it's not the BAND that holds the information. It's your My Disney Experience Account. Everything is then uploaded to your band whenever you get it.

Nothing is uploaded to the magic band. It has a code linked to your MDE account where all your info is stored.
