Is this ridiculous?

I think we will have time for a CS meal in EP. My husband would love the Cantina but I'm more adventurous and would love to try Tangerine. Would it be ridiculous to carry food all the way from Mexico to Morroco or vice versa so we could both eat what we want? Do they have take away containers or bags? I don't want to walk half way around "the world" just carrying a plate of food.

Nope, everyone does it. That's the best part of Epcot! :goodvibes

We always eat around the world. We love the sampler platter at the Cantina and usually take it back to the room with us for late afternoon snack. They'll put it in a styrofoam container for you.

I usually have that, a turkey leg and a kringla pretzel in my stroller basket! :rotfl:

We've done that between China and Germany; and England and Morocco. Your walk will be a little farther, but certainly doable.

We brought Mexico and Germany to the USA . As much as I  the foods in EP, having picky kids can make it really difficult to eat in the WS (for me at least)!

We usually all eat at different restaurants, but we don't usually drag the food around. DD17 & I will share a meal at UK fish shop. Then move to France to eat a pastry. DH gets a meal in Morocco. DD14 will get a meal in Japan. DH might get a beer in Germany. We might get an eggroll or fried rice or something in China. Then I get a meal in Mexico. We just sit at the CS places and soak in the atmosphere. Sometimes the kids go looking through the gift shops while DH & I sit and eat. Etc.

It's not ridiculous at all. My son would get nachos in Mexico, then I'd get egg rolls in China and we'd end up in America where my husband would get a cheeseburger. We just took the food from Mexico and China to America. Just ask for it "to go" and they will be happy to do it. I've taken Chinese pot stickers to Germany to eat while watching Illuminations.

That is what we do, but sometimes its even more fun to get a meal, share it, and make your way to the next country. We love to eat our way around the world.

Thanks everyone. Now I just have to decide which sounds more fun - to get our meals and then all bring them to one place to eat them or to stop and eat along the way! Hmmmm.....

I agree with everyone else that it's not ridiculous at all. On the last trip, I carried a plate from Morocco to France. Granted, it's not as far away as Mexico, but still no one will think anything of it. The fun of World Showcase is that there's something for everyone, from the picky to the adventurous.

Not rediculous at all, you are on vacation to enjoy yourself, what better way than to both have what you want. We bring food from one country to the other all the time.

Not ridiculous. You can also split the meal both places so you get to try everything. Dh and I do it all the time.

Glad to see my question answered :goodvibes We are planning on CS meals for dinner while waiting for Illuminations to start. Lucky me, I get to be the runner getting everyone their food while they hold our spots :)

I've done it before myself, but watch out for the birds. People have fed them so much that the last time I was carrying my fish and chips that one attacked and made off with a piece of fish. A closed type container or something similar would have been nice. Now I know to watch out for the birds.

Yikes - good advice. If they don't have a container with a lid I'll ask for an extra paper plate to put on top. Tips like this are priceless! Thanks for sharing.

OMG! Those birds are just scary! One stole my bagel while I was having breakfast outside at the Poly one morning! My mom just looked at me and said "well, you REALLY didn't need that anyway!" :rotfl:

I've seen the birds in Epcot steal people's chiros (sp) in Mexico and pretzels in Germany.

But to me the most dangerous spot for those birds is frontierland by the turkey cart. That just scares me. They sit on top of the cart just waiting to attack your turkey leg! I always stay far away when DH goes there! :rotfl2:

I strongly suggest stopping by MouseGears in Epcot for a few Goofy Candy Co. Bags. They're very long, very strong, with a ziplock closure.

You can easily fit a kringla pretzel in one bag:thumbsup2 The fish & chips have fit in there too. Pastries from France would fit.

They're just handy for leftovers around WS.;)

But can I fit one of the birds in there? :rotfl:

That would have been very handy for the fish and chips. I still say thanks as I'm in the WDW area this week with my wife at a conference, and I think you just saved my fish and chips! :goodvibes

I'll be going to get some this weekend for sure.

My family did this in AK. I wanted shrimp lo mien from Yak and Yeti CS and the rest of my family wanted pizza. So I got my food and then just carried it to the other restaurant.

Uh, how about just bringing some extra zip-lock bags into the parks? Sandwich, quart, gallon... all helpful sizes!

I mean, the kids inevitably have some extra grapes leftover from CS meals that we like to save for later... and what about that bag of chips or other munchies that you don't want to finish right away, yet it doesn't close completely and you don't want the bugs or birds to get it?

And what about the sprinklers and fountains where the kids like to play? Sometimes we like to change the kids clothes for such situations... where do you put the wet stuff? In a ziplock bag!

You want to take pictures on a ride where you might get your camera wet? Put it in a ziplock bag to take pictures!

See what I'm getting at?

Sorry for getting a little off topic... but I like ziplocks!

Save that kringla or lefse for later... put it in a ziplock!

Last August, during Tropical Storm Faye, after completing our day at Hollywood Studios the rest of my family returned to our resort. I hopped to EPCOT by boat, walked to Japan for sushi and Tangerine in Morrocco (both places packed everything very well for travel for me), walked to the front of EPCOT, took a bus to ASMUsic. An hour and 45 minutes for takeout. In the rain. But soooooo worth it!
