to get from Epcot to MGM?

From: Epcot To: Disney-MGM Studios
Using Disney Transportation: Board bus marked Downtown Disney Marketplace and then get bus Marked Disney-MGM Studios

Approximate Travel Time: 60 minutes

Seems like a long way around.

Also, does anyone know...does it really take an hour to get from CSR to DTD?

Many thanks!

to get to mgm from epcot, you have two options. 1. take a bus directly to mgm, no need to go anywhere else. you can grab the bus at the front entrance.

2. take the boat that leaves from international gateway. it makes stops at some of the resorts along the way but will get you to mgm quite quickly.

either of these will only take you maybe 20 minutes or so.

Walk. 15 minutes at most and you get to check out the lovely boardwalk inn.

Thanks. I thought that going to DTD seemed odd, but that's what came up using the Dis direction thingy.

There are no buses to and from DTD from the theme parks. Exit out the International Gateway (near Great Britain and France) and either take the boat or walk over to Disney Studios.

I doubt if it really takes 60 minutes to get to DTD from CSR. Unless you start counting time from the first CSR bus stop and stop counting at the second DTD bus stop.

Thanks. Again, that's what the Dis transport thingy spit out for me. Weird.

So, you can't get from ANY park to DTD directly? That's odd too, IMHO. Oh well.

I am glad to hear getting from CSR to DTD won't take an hour. Would seem like a waste of time.

I got what I was looking for, but thanks.

The reason for this is so people don't park at DTD for free and take the shuttle to the parks.

Precisely. The service used to be available but was discontinued, apparently due to abuse.

Ok. That explains why it comes up on the transport thingy. I guess the Dis needs to update it.

wondered about why since it was possible our last trip. typical i guess wonder if that was originally a dis reader idea :rotfl: sometimes i think the site logo should be "if there's a loophole we'll find it"

There's a path from MGM to Disney's Boardwalk Resort, then a pathway to Epcot. Just follow the signs from the pathway to MGM to the boardwalk, then follow the signs to Epcot. I'd say that's about 20 minutes, and its very enjoyable.

Or you can take a boat to the Boardwalk and walk/take another boat to Epcot. The boats run about every 30 minutes. Both are relaxing and enjoyable.

It's a lovely walk or you can take the boat. I wouldn't do the busses.

Some great ideas, thanks everyone!

i have gotten the bus from epcot to mgm and it didnt take long not even half an hour and thats including waiting time for the bus.

some options for you:

get the bus from epcot to mgm.

walk through epcot and get the bus from the boardwalk or a epcot resort hotel to mgm or get the boat (its very relaxing) or walk the path from epcot to mgm.

get a bus from epcot to a resort then from that resort you could look around it (if you had the time) then get a bus from that resort to mgm.

as for the CSR question im absolutley sure that it would not take 60 minutes to get to mgm or downtown disney i think it would take that long only if there was a problem with the route or bus or something like that.

hope they help!!!!!!

If it were me I'd figure out whether I was closer to the bus or the boat and take whichever one it was.

But that's just me.

More great options. Thanks guys!
