Is this possible?

Hello All
I just had a question regarding if this is possible. Could someone call down to Disney and pay someone else's room charges while this family was vacationing without the family knowing? For instance, the person returned home from vacation and realized there bill had been paid by someone else? Just curious?

Unless the bill has to be paid with the same credit card that the reservation was made in I do not see why not. Although when you check in you have to show form of payment such as a credit card or cash up front. Maybe they would not allow that after alll.

If they do I will just let you know that we will be there from 8/24-9/1 and you can reach my resort at anytime.

Thanks

Someone said this happened for them....so I was just curious....we could never be that fortunate. My thinking was that no one would have permission to change credit card information on file but the person who the reservation is under.

In order to access a reservation, you are asked for a phone number, email address and usually a reservation number.

In order to pay it online, you need the login, phone number and reservation number.

I have had something similar to that done back in 2002. When we checked in, we had a credit on our keys to the kingdom card of $400.00. Whaaa? This was our 1st trip. The CM then says, have a great trip from.......
My 2 bosses had called in and did it. Yippie! Great 1st trip!! Don't know how, and it was 2002.

hmm...maybe it is possible. Only this was said to have been done and found out about after returning home. I just don't know how you could check out and not know someone else's credit card was being used.....and the amount was much higher than 400.00

If we could have only been so lucky....

If it's possible, my mom would figure out a way to do it, probably! I should ask her. We used to go out to dinner and find out at the end that the check was already taken care of! I "heart" my mom!

I think you could do it, if you could find a way to reach the actual front desk of the resort and talk to the manager. They could just transfer the charges to a new bill, I bet, and zero out the former one. Just my thinking - but with the whole central reservations thing and consolidated "DISNEY" stuff, I don't think it would be that easy.

Yes, you can. You don't have to have the ressie number, just to know the name of the person who's name is on the ressies. I would also suggest knowing the person(s) names in the rooms too just incase there *happen* to be two people there with the same name...it could happen.

My guess is that it would be pretty easy. If you think about it, if someone calls Disney and says, "I want to give you money," how many questions do you think they're really going to ask? We had this happen on a much smaller scale. When we checked in to our campsite in Yellowstone years ago, someone else had paid it in full. We never figured out who it was, so it must have been a mistake. The park service would not let us pay again, so we made a donation to the park. Whoever you are, thank you!

I'm sure it can be done. I would call the hotel directly.
We were having dinner one year at the Yaghtsman Steakhouse and my son called and ordered us a bottle of champagne. They took his credit card with no problem. He called the restaurant directly.

I would imagine it's possible, especially if a relative knew your room number.

In my family, it's common practice to call a relative and say "Hey, We made it fine, our room number is 1234" That way if there is an emergency they can reach us.

Then if you have hotel, room # -- it would be pretty easy I think to call the front desk and say "Hey, I want to give you money for the Smith family staying in room 1234".

I assume it can be done since someone at Disney Travel used my credit card number & hired a limo in my name but I never asked for or hired through Disney nor used. But I was charged $150 on my Disney Visa. I called Disney Visa to dispute it & I had to finally hire a lawyer as they insisted I hired the limo service. I sent Disney Visa every piece of paper work to prove I didn't hire or ask for Disney to hire one per ex. my confirmation # of my stay at Disney along with check out bill plus a letter from Disney billing & they(billing) even called Disney Visa but they wouldn't take it off. So that when I call a lawyer, it came off within two days along with I am sorry, It took about a year to get this clear up. My lawyer called back & demanded to find out who it was as I wanted to press charges. They found the person who admitted using my Visa to hire a limo for family & friends under my name. He will not be working with Disney nor much anywhere. I really don't like people who steals another's person credit card number & use it. It is fraud & to think we give Disney our credit card number not even thinking someone there could use it for their own use. Just what happen to me. So I make sure when I pay I get the person's name even if it is a fake name lol. I guess I was lucky he only used it once. Once was enough.
