Is it possible for me to go into a park with all my family member's passes and obtain fastpasses for a ride later in the day while my family stays at the resort? In December we will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas so I was thinking while my family was at the pool one afternoon I could get fastpasses for Rock 'n Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror and then that night we could all go back and ride. Will this be a problem/is it allowed? Thanks!

If they had been in the park in the morning you will be able to do this. If not, you won't be able to. The fastpass machines are tied to the entry.

Generally, this won't work. All the passes need to be scanned through the front turnstiles of the park THAT day for the fp machines to accept them (keeps people from buying multiple tickets, use them for extra fps, and then save them for admission on future trips). However, sometimes you can find a CM at the entrance who will scan the other passes for you so you can do this.

You could do that, BUT..... If you put everyones tickets in to get your FP before they leave to go back to your resort all your return times will be pretty close if not exact... you would need to keep their tickets with you and stagger them so you won't have to be back to all your rides at the same time...... If you keep all their tix, well.... then you could play all day!!!!

Ofcourse they had to all have been in the park earlier that day!!! The FP machine will think they are still there and think they are getting the FP...

You guys are FAST! I don't think we were planning on being in a park that morning, so it sounds like my plan won't work. Are the CM's ever willing to make exceptions? Like if I explained to the CM at the FP kiosk that my family was at the pool and not in the park, but planning on coming in later do you think they may give me the FP's?

Not sure if you know this, just thought I would pass it along since there might be others who don't know this.............but when you get a Fastpass for say, 2:00pm, you may ride that ride with your Fastpass anytime after 2:00pm, even 9:30pm. Just as long as you don't ride it before 2:00pm. :)

We had that problem in Epcot. they were having problems with the scanner and hubby had the stroller so they let him through, without him getting his finger scan...well the fast pass machines wouldnt work with his ticket. The CM quesitoned his ticket and asked if they were having problems agian and just waved him through, when he said yes, she gave him his fp and told him that his ticket for the day wasnt used. So he has an extra parkday than me....

I don't know, but not if you got the CM's at the gates that we got. Whew!! They thought my 10 year old was a scam artist when her AP wouldn't work one day. Then another day, my DH's AP wouldn't work and he had to show his Driver's liscense. We never had trouble before but the machines really had a hard time compared to other trips we have had.......even with the same card.

:rotfl2: That happened to me once too! Your poor daughter!

But anyway, it the fact that the biometric scan doesn't work so well that makes me think that if you told the CM at the FP kiosk that your pass wasn't working in the machine they would just chalk it up to the scan. They want to keep the line moving, would assume it was just an error, and would just hand you a FP without asking questions. I will probably give it a shot. I like walking around the parks by myself so if I don't get the FP's it won't be a big deal, especially since I'm within walking distance of the park.

Like others said, the FP machines won't take tickets that haven't been used for entry at the turnstiles.

There may be instances where a CM at the attraction may need to *override* the FP machine, because a ticket wasn't scanned properly. But I can't imagine that a CM would make an exception for multiple tickets because the rest of the party was doing something else and not in the park until later. So, to answer the OPs question, I would say what you are thinking of doing is not allowed.

Interesting, I thought FPs had a time window of 1 hour in which you had to use the pass? I was last at WDW in 2003, so perhaps this has changed since I went there. Or do the FPs still print the same, but the CM will 'bend' the rules and let you in even if you're past your FP window?

i though fast pass gave you a time to come back, say you scan the FP at 1 pm it printed out a ticket with a time of 2:15 that is the time you need to go back to get onto the ride right away?

am i wrong :confused3 , where did you get this info from?

Fast passes are valid for a one hour time frame. MOST of the time the CM collecting the fast pass will allow you to use them anytime after they become valid, however, there have been reports on these boards about CMs not allowing the use of expired fast passes. I believe many of the reports were from Soarin' shortly after it opened.

I think there's still an hour entry - they can't expect you to return in the exact minute, you need an hour window!

The point is if your pass says between 2 and 3pm, and for some reason you forget to use it, or can't be there, 9 times out of 10 the CM's will let you in. They've even let people in with FP's for the wrong date...

Officially you have a 1 hr window in which to use your fast pass. A lot of Cm's will just take your fp and not say a word if you are after your 1 hr window but some will.

It is true!! We did it and I know for a fact that it is true.

We just came back and did it many, many times. The CM's do not care if you do it. They did care with Soarin' in the beginning, but not any more.

We got our FP's for SpaceM. and Soarin, Splash......all in the morning and ussed them when we came back at night.

There is still a time window printed. And they use that to tell you when you can first use it, say 2pm.......they will not let you in one minute before 2pm........but we came back at 8:30pm and they didn't blink an eyelash..........not one blink.

However....just because one person, or many people, have been able to use their FP's way past the return time, does not guarantee that everyone will have that same experience!! I did see people being turned away because their 'time slot' had expired several hours previously!! It can happen!! I'm not saying that every single CM is going to turn you away if you show up an hour after your FP 'expires' but it can, and does, happen.
