Hi

Some friends are hoping to travel to WDW next march and they have received this quote -

March 17th - March 22nd 2004

Total = $3,750

They have 3 children (5,15,13) and this price includes park admission for the duration of their stay.

Thanks for your help.

Richard. :)

Hi Richard-
Any idea if this is for garden view, lagoon view, concierge room? Also what kind of tickets are included?

Is anything else included in this price? I was re-reading your post & I'm thinking that it only includes the room & tixs, correct?

Rack rates for 2004 for the poly during peak season start at $404 & go up to $605 depending on the view & whether they are staying at concierge level. 5 nights in a garden view room would be over $2252 for the hotel alone. UPH for their length of stay (5 nights/6 days) if you buy them in advance would run about $1437 so the total of both of these would be $3689. Sounds about right I guess.

That's in US dollars, right?

Thank-You so much for your reply Karen.

This quote is for a standard garden view room, and is part of the 'Dreammaker' Standard Package.

Yes, this is in US Dollars.

I personally felt it was slightly to high, but perhaps not for this kind of time??

Thanks again

Just a little more info for you...we are going in 3 weeks. Staying gv. My dh, myself and 9 y/o dd. We are actually going for 8 nights, but with the FTP we're paying for only 5. It also includes passes. Our total is 2496 for the three of us. So I would imagine that if you add 2 more adults (the teenagers) into the mix and go at regular or peak time, the cost could be that high.

Yes, the dates are during peak time so the price is really up there. I am wondering if they might reduce the costs a bit by trying to drop either the arrival day or departure day from their UPH pass? However, since they are doing the dreamaker package, I have no idea if that is a possibility.

Good luck to your friends, have they considered staying at a mod with 2 connecting rooms? Might be more space than 1 room with 5 people trying to get ready in the AM. Just my .02!

For that kind of money, I would think it would make sense for at least one in the party to purchase an annual pass, and then call and get the annual pass rate as soon as it comes out, or book the rack rate and apply the annual pass rate when it comes out. The annual pass rate for that time would probably only be about 250 a night for the hotel, making the five nights including tax approx....1400. Then 400 for the annual pass makes 1800. Then 4 more approx. $300 each UPHs is 1200 more, making the total about 3000. That would save enough for quite a few meals and souvenirs. The UPH would have to be purchased at check in, to avoid "everybody in the party must buy them if bought in advance" rule. Even if the annual pass rate turned out to be slightly higher than that, you'd still be saving quite a bit.

I made a bit of a mistake (!)

It is atually

APRIL 17 - APRIL 22

Not March!

Sorry.

How is the quote for this time of year? Would buying an AP change this a lot?

Thanks for all of your help though, It's really appreciated.

Peak season ends on April 17th, so the hotel rack rate would be the same. If they checked in on the 18th, the rate goes down to $344/night-savings of $60 + tax per night.

If they booked at the regular season rate and AP discounts were available for their time period, they could call & get the room for the discounted rate, then buy an AP for one of the adults. If discounts aren't available for that time period, then they haven't spent the money for the AP for no reason, know what I mean?

AP rates are not a guarantee but they have been coming out for pretty much every time period, just not when we want them to come out-lol!

HTH!
