Is this old news? Free Dining Package thru 12/20

I received this pin code a couple of days ago. I am very excited, it is our first pin code. Even though we can't use it. This is just an observation, I noticed there are at least 3 of us from Illinois that received this pin.

Princess_K we to got the pin yesterday and already had reservations for Dec 14-20th and we were able to call last evening and get the discount!! We saved 531 more dollars~~ Right now I feel like Disney is trying to pay us to come!!:wizard:

Did you already have a room discount previously and if so did you get to keep it and add the free dining too? Also did they allow free dining for your length of stay? Thanks for your help! princess:

My last name actually starts with a "K" so if I'm getting one, it should be soon! :rolleyes1

Sorry, my e-mail tells me I got mine on the 9th (just opened it today) and I'm a J. I suppose they could have stopped at J, but I doubt it.

More than a few people in my neighborhood got this email in the last couple days. So, I wonder if our zip code was targeted, or area code.

My quote, for an 11 night, POP, 1 day base ticket is around $300 LESS than what the same package sans Dining Plan costs..rack rate. There has to be a room discount in there as well. In the past, the Magic Your Way package without the Dining Plan is always the price of the package when you get Free Dining...not so this time.

Ohhh...I am intrigued. So you got a $300 discount on top of free dining???? I am not going until August but we are going to celebrate my 40th birthday and I would love to be able to upgrade from 2 rooms at a value to a deluxe. Either way will be fine but of course a better location would always be nice.

Ok, I apologize for sounding dumb and out of touch, but what is this email pin thing? How do you sign up to get this and other special offers via email? TIA for any help and insight!

It's a random code (for a discount) sent out to people via email, there is no rhyme or reason to it, it's COMPLETELY RANDOM (or so Disney says, and it appears). Which might explain why some households receive several pin codes and others receive nothing.

Basically, it's who Disney deems worthy, apparently! :sad2:

So say by signing up for the free DVD, registering and looking up different vacation scenarios, etc. you'll receive a code. But believe me, there are lots of us who try and still don't have luck.

We got it about a week ago and our last name starts with a "k".

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on that theory, but it was fun while it lasted.

I'm this means maybe I'll get a free room upgrade at check-in? :confused3

Yeah, right, I'm laughing at that theory too!! Some of us just aren't destined to receive pixie dust the same way others do. But at least I know our trip is paid for, we're staying at the Poly which is an incredible resort, and if we have to dine only at CS, so be it. At least we'll be there. ;)

This is our first pin code, so I know how you feel. Look on the bright side, you will be at WDW at the POLY! So jealous, we'll be at Pop.

So who's the smarter one between us? You'll be at the Pop with a discount and I'm wiping out my savings for this special, once in a lifetime trip for my parents. They've never stayed onsite (and haven't been to Disney in 24 years) so they'd be happy with a Value, but since it's their 30th anniversary gift, I wanted it to be extra magical and they honeymooned in Hawaii, so I thought this would be a great idea. Now if only I had some pixie dust to add to the magic! :wizard:

That sounds like a wonderful and special trip. I'm sure your trip will be full of pixie dust and who knows, you could get a special dream too!

We'll be traveling with 2 kids under 3...I'm sure you wouldn't want to trade places anymore! :rotfl:

You're probably right, it's SO much easier going to Disney with a 10 year old! I used to take her to Disney when she was 2, and it was just the 2 of us (divorced before she was 2). My mom thought I was NUTS for taking a 2 year old to Disney alone but it was magical, even back then. Even when I couldn't afford to stay onsite, eat at TS or buy souveniers.

And it's special because my parents (mom & stepdad, but he's the "dad" who raised me, so I consider & call him "my dad") have had a rough year. My grandma (maternal) is dying and my mom has been caring for her for quite some time, and my dad lost his job this year when the company he worked for was bought out. I just want them to have a great week of fun and forget their problems for awhile.

So yeah, I know this trip will be magical either way. I just feel so jealous that I can't get a discount when I'm spending my hard-earned money there too! :3dglasses

We went through that last trip. We stayed in May and everyone was getting codes and I kept calling, but nothing was ever attached to my name. Then they released a code, but I couldn't get that either! We stayed at WL, so it was a shot to the wallet.

It is an email, with a pin code and is specific to the person. It can not be used for anyone else...unless the original person is there as well. Each person can book up to three rooms at a time...so make friends with someone that was lucky enough to get one! LOL!

I got one too:worship: :cool1:  my first ever. I booked 10 days/9 nights for 11/9-11/18. We are going to be at the CBR. I went and checked out what it would cost us without the code and we are saving over $400. I think I am going to cancel the waterparks and that will save us another $400. We can use these savings to pay for our flight and some shopping here.:cool1:

Yet another day has passed, and still NO CODE!!! Why can't we get this code??????

That sounds like a great offer!! Maybe WDW is going to spread out their free dining offers so it isn't such a "feeding frenzy" (no pun intended) at all the eateries in Aug/Sept.
