Is This OK?

I have booked with sunray transportation to pick us up from the airport when we arrive & also to take us to Clearwater on our 3rd week & bring us back to the airport 7 days later. $60 for airport pick up & $350 for return Clearwater trip.
Thay have asked for ALL the money when they pick us up when we arrive at OIA which comes to over $400.
I dont want to offend them, but is this normal?
I thought we would pay the Clearwater money when they pick us up to take us to Clearwater!!!

It is usual to pay in advance!

With a round trip and additional trips in between, the towncar company I'm familiar with, take the full amount on the arrival trip.

I do not know the particular company you are using, but would recommend PMing those that have used them so that you are comfortable about the arrangements.

Also, it is worth asking if they only take cash - usually if you are paying the driver, they have no facility to take credit cards, so be sure that you have enough cash - and you can also advise the company that you'll want a receipt.

Certainly when we have used Tiffany and FLTours we have had to pay the driver up front when we arrived at our hotel (plus one way tip). But there is a big difference between the cost of just an airport transfer and your transfer costs.

Perhaps ask if they would split the payments - one for the airport transfer ($60) and then one for the balance ($350) once you arrive in Clearwater.
At least then you have the peace of mind that you are in Clearwater
