I gotta agree! I got turned off the birthday at WDW thing several years ago one night when we were at Chef Mickey's. There were a couple of tables there with birthday kids and the CMs brought them out cupcakes and had everyone take turns singing Happy Birthday to them. OK! fine that was cute, but suddenly every table in there had a birthday. I bet we sang Happy Birthday at least 15 times. The last one was ridiculous. The family at the table right next to us had three kids and the mom was arguing with the dad about telling the CMs that all three kids were going to have a birthday that week, just so they could be sung to and get a cupcake. The dad was rather loud and saying it was ridiculous and he was not going to lie. The mom got really loud and said 'do you think it's actually half these kids birthdays?' She then called a CM over (with husband glaring at her) and told the CM that all three of her kids were having a birthday that week. The middle child, said 'mom my birthday was in August' (this was in January). She just smoothly said 'but we are celebrating it now' and looked expectantly at the CM, who I guess was fed up by this point, because he rather obviously rolled his eyes, went to get three more cupcakes, and had his fellow cast members sing Happy Birthday one more time. The couple then spent the rest of their meal arguing over the lie she had told. Chef Mickey's was ridiculous that night!
I was there the first week in October this year. My birthday is in just a few days, at the end of 0ctober. It never crossed our minds to lie and say it was my birthday.
