Hellllooooo, :cool1:
It will be our 1st WDW trip next year.
We are going on 30th April - 14th May 2010

What is the weather like in May? Roughly how hot does it get in degree's?

Also what will the crowds be like in early May? Is it a quiet time to go?

Easter hols and Spring break would be over, so no school holiday in the USA as far as im aware.

Thanks you :goodvibes

Hey - congrats on your first trip to WDW!

May is a lovely time to go, the weather is quite pleasant, though there are showers quite often in the afternoons, but they do clear and it usually brightens up again straight afterwards. Usually hits around the low 90's through May too.

Over previous years, May has had quieter crowds. But after watching this years reports (as we're there next May too!) it does seem that this time of year is getting a little busier than previous years. I think people have clicked onto this time of year sometimes being quieter.

There's no UK school holidays at that time I don't think and I'm sure the US Spring Breaks are all over or at least coming to an end at that point.

I think you'd be fine going at this time. You thinking of on-site or off-site?

Have been in May and enjoyed it as the kids had not broken up so crowds were noticeably smaller. Deffo not as hot as July/August though should still be nice!

Oooooh i am pleased that we have chosen a nice time to go
When we went to Disneyland Paris last year, we went at the beginning of November, it was the start of the Xmas season and of course no school holidays. The 1st few days we a little busy, but nothing really bad. But the Wed, Thurs and Fri the park was Empty, we were running on and off many rides without queueing, it was amazing! :thumbsup2

We went for our first visit in May 09, and the weather was certainly interesting!! It was very hot and we had thunderstorms most days late afternoon - as already mentioned these cleared (usually) after 1 - 2 hrs.
It was a good time to go to the water parks (late afternoon) as most had had enough and didnt want to stay through the rain.....so it got very empty vety quick and there were no queues!

You will see many people unpacking those poncho things to attempt to keep dry, but its better to get in cover somewhere and maybe watch a show? We did this at Seaworld and AK.

The parks were still very busy most of the time, and even fast pass for the favourite rides didnt help much. However, Seaworld seemed quiet and we went twice - neither time waiting for more than 10 mins for Manta and Kraken.

Bottom line is you wont know til you go! But be prepared for wet weather if you can.

Cheers

We have been twice in April/May and think it is an excellent time to go.
Weather is good and the parks aren't as busy as some other times of year.
You have probably chosen the best time of year for your first trip as you will get more done in my opinion. My reasoning being that there will be fewer crowds and the heat and humidity won't sap your energy too quickly.

May is great. US schools are still all in the first weeks of May. Weather is spectacular. We went this past end of April beginning of May. Crowds were heavy. Disney had that buy 4 get 3 free promo. ADRs were easy, people seemed to be having picnics all over the place.

May is great we had a few storms in early May this year then late May was a washout. The crowds were average and it was cool enough to walk around.
